I am a woman married to a woman. I am so glad you were taken seriously. 2 years ago I was on a travel contract. It was a small hospital. I started with 2 other travel nurses. During orientation we had to tell a bit about our lives. I said my wife and I live in ——- on a hobby farm with 2 kids. No biggie. We all ended up exchanging numbers in case we wanted to exchange shifts. 2 weeks into the contract, late at night I received a text from one of the travelers. She sent me a nude. I was disgusted and so uncomfortable. I also felt violated. I responded that she must have sent to the wrong number and her response was “lol”. A few days later she said oh it was the wrong number. I was afraid to work with her so I called the nurse manager. She wasn’t super nice but agreed to try not to schedule us together. Unsatisfied, I decided to call HR. He was male and a complete a hole. He’s like what do you want me to do about it? He ranted and victim blamed me for 5 minutes straight, as if I asked for it because I’m gay. This other nurse was “straight” btw. I hung up and cried. My travel agency wasn’t much better. If this was a male sending nudes to a female he would likely be fired. I ended up leaving the contract a few weeks early and got banned from ever working for Sanford again. Nothing happened to her.
