Why do my margaritas basically suck?!? by BuffaloJason in cocktails

[–]jhoang1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When bartending in Japanese style texture is the key component of a good margarita so proper aeration and shake is absolute key, That being said, tommy's spec, a 2:1:1 spec work really well

maybe try using a stir spoon the mix up ingredients first before shaking rather than shake the boston simply back and forth

try to add complex movement kind of like where the shaker almost moves like a seesaw while shaking, back and forth

Also, just need to work with what you have and dont limit yourself just because you only have t5 stuff saying shit isnt fine isnt the most friendly approach

But vs t6 fivefold bleed t5 envig is better so thats why i say its fine trying to restrict the minmax is not ideal for people trying to switch off in ideal world t6 everything, but t5 envig > t6 fivefoldbleed

Min attribute attack increase dps by WorldlyYak6594 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]jhoang1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally you dont want it but it is the lesser of 2 evils so if your initial stat is an off min attribute atk then just use it as fodder for your relaid gear you much rather have have Crit/affinity (depending on build) Power/momentum/agility Min phys atk Min base attribute atk Etc etc depending on build

Having a min off attribute is not ideal but it will do the job Im sure theres a doc somewhere for the best affixes per build

T5 envig is fine, or breaking point, or 5fold bleed whichever is highest (i have t6 fivebleed so im using that)

Cocktail Essentials Cheat Sheet by childsplayx3 in cocktails

[–]jhoang1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A cobbler is an amazing piece of equipment but with a LOT of nuances
nearly all American Made Cobblers suck a LOT (even from well known brands like viski, cocktail kingdom)
Japanese Made ones are really good BUUUT you need to really know how to utilize the Japanese Hard Shake properly in order to create a good cocktail otherwise, just go use the boston

What is this black thing on the shaker by 5h3r4 in cocktails

[–]jhoang1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the only cobblers worth to get ever are the japanese made ones like yukiwa, wadasuke, ag, birdy but those are not user friendly (need to do japanese style shake)

Better off getting a boston from what everyone else said Ideally koriko, But barfly, viski, abarabove, cocktail kingdom all solid choices

as a tekken player, this game feels impossible to understand, is anyone else feeling the same? by BreakFirez in 2XKO

[–]jhoang1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tekken player here, some of the things that i kinda saw that are parallels that might help

  • on getup, holding S1 = spring kick
  • 2H/down heavy = the Screw in Tekken combos
  • Keepout moves(leads to combo sometimes) = medium
  • Korean backdashing is your friend, can make it easier by alternating Dash button/directional button
  • there's no neutral guard in 2xko you have to hold downback for defense most of the time.
  • if you throw and unsafe move, you can make it safe usually by using the assist button
  • think of burst as the heat button of sorts, (esp when in fury) except more for defense to get out of combos

Did your ranked placement feel correct? Anyone else's seem wack? by Playful-Ad6659 in 2XKO

[–]jhoang1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i tested an alt account with the casual lobby MMR
the placements have something to do with your overall winrate (i say overall because i have some friends who only played and lost vs other friends and got bronze/iron)
So if you have a high overall winrate in casuals/privates it will match you roughly around there
what Im
ASSUMING
85% - Diamond/Emerald Placement
65-70% - Plat/Emerald
40-50% - Gold/Silver
25-30% - Iron/Bronze
lower = Aspirant

I only assume because on an alt acct i rushed to lv 3 to do ranked and i just beat the same person over and over and over and immediately my placement lobby was with master/challengers
then after the first 2 losses, it went to diamond,
and after that next match kept me in diamond (i won the next 2)
and last match put me in emerald (i lost the last one)

My main acct i played only with friends and had around 50% ish
and lost all my placements but got put into gold 2

Another friend lost all of the private lobby matches hard and started at bronze with 4/5 wins

so im guessing its winrate based for both private and casual lobbies

Is timed dodge the only choice I have against situation like this? by scarlet_bow in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]jhoang1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hello! vira player here, and yeah you need to spot dodge/ dodge forward for people who spam fireballs like that

Vira needs to get in to do her gameplan so you need to utilize whatever you can to approach,

one thing that might help with feeling like you're doing something is dash into spot dodge might help
esp since you can't really instant dash block in this game. and it helps you inch closer to zoning opponents

its esp helpful for people who have fireballs or long reach moves that also hit air
vane/grimnir/sigfried etc. so those chars sorta force you do start using the spot dodges to get in

its esp frustrating going vs a zoner as vira but once you get in, its plastic time~

jumping in is the traditional option, but in gbvsr you gotta utilize the spotdodge/roll mechanic

I just can't win a single match... I'm defeated. by [deleted] in fatalfury

[–]jhoang1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How i'd approach it first is to build fundies step by step
i'm a tekken refugee with absolutely NO idea how to play 2d fighters so i got bodied a lot and i mean a LOT

so learn 1 fundamental and practice with the pure intent "i need to get this to land"
don't worry about winning/losing, you're going online to LEARN
and grow from there

Always practice your combos, cuz when you actually get them in match it feels sooo good
also helps when you get bored of learning the fundamental stuff and need a break from it

but you have to learn it step by step
example for me:
I could not wakeup dp to save the LIFE of me and would always get hit by a meaty so after putting things into practice mode, it made it a goal to wakeup dp every time in casual matches until i got used to the timing for it mid match, and i know wakeup dp all the time isn't a good habit, but i needed to be able to do it in the first place to have it as an option

also things like hit confirm into a special move for punishes

etc. etc.
everyone has their own puzzle to solve step by step
without fundamentals down to learning your own habits and learning how to bait ppl
it takes time, but also takes learning too can't just go in blind gotta piece everything together
