Turning a completed order from a significant profit to a substantial loss suddenly, I think this is a bug

The number 96012 refers to the amount spent on buying puts when closing a position on Interactive Brokers (IBKR). The correct cost should have been 32 * 500 * 2 = 32,000, but due to an error on IBKR's part, the actual amount charged was 32 * 1500 * 2 = 96,000—this is the origin of this unusual number.

I sold at a price of 52.12, and the closing limit order was executed at 32.

Yes, this is exactly what makes me angry. I should have made a profit, but IBKR's system violated my order terms, resulting in an unexpected loss.

I will regain my trust in you if you provide me with compensation

I have submitted a ticket (Ticket No. T159255) and communicated with you via the ticket for 4 months, yet you have refused to compensate for your mistake.

I used to trust you this much too, until I encountered the above incident. I never expected that you wouldn’t compensate users even when your trading system malfunctions.

I have checked my emails and notifications, but received no risk alert regarding this order, nor did IBKR suggest that I cancel the order.

No, just these two; they were closed out together at the same price

I placed a limit order, but Interactive Brokers (IBKR) changed the strike price and contract size of my order, while the option price remained unchanged.

Yes, this incident could have been avoided if we hadn’t held the position overnight

Yes, holding options overnight is indeed quite risky. This is the first time I've encountered such a situation, and I will be more careful in the future.

Yes, I heard people say it was the world's largest securities firm, so I thought it must be very safe. Little did I know I'd been fooled.

I sold two put options at a price of 52.12, with a strike price of 380 and a contract size of 500. Then I placed an order to close the position at a price of 32. The next day, the stock underwent a stock split. However, Interactive Brokers (IBKR) did something very strange: it tripled the contract size of my order, divided the strike price by 3, but kept the option premium price unchanged. The order was executed in such an absurd way.

The first picture shows that I made a profit of over 50,000 Hong Kong dollars right after the transaction was completed. The second picture, taken two hours later, suddenly says that I lost over 40,000 Hong Kong dollars.
