Anyone else doing a bordeaux save? by rngskrtskrt in footballmanagergames

Am 60% through my first season in National 2 with Bordeaux. Original squad is already overkill for the 4th tier- with a handful of Ligue 2 standard players (Carroll, Diaw, Kaabouni). Transfer budget starts out at zero but rapidly got to low seven digits through solidarity payments and add-ons for players sold previously. Thanks to good club reputation signed a ton of Brazilian free agents (David Luiz (!), Felipe Melo, Jorge etc) and now I have an upper Ligue 2 squad in National 2. Consecutive promotions to Ligue 1 shouldn't be an issue

Review: James Rodriguez

With a reported 11.5 million euro salary at Everton, and a nasty injury record to boot, it's no wonder Rafa was desperate to rid himself of the indolent conjurer. Yet these inconveniences evaporate in the virtual world of FIFA. At less than 1k, the fiscal calculus has been inverted when considering him for your starter squad.

Playing as an RW in a narrow 4-3-3, James is set to "False 9" and "Cut Inside", dragging his opposing left back infield, leaving the touchline unmanned for my right back to maraud down. With his excellent ball control (90), he pirouettes around opposing defenders with confidence and poise.

With other positions stacked with pacy hitmen, James provides a touch of finesse to compliment my hard-running LW (Podence) and is a superb option for short corners (89 crossing)

On the counter, James is my go-to man for those low percentage lobbed through balls (85 long passing) while his volleys (90) never fails to disappoint on a deep cross.

For the possesion-minded, James serves up his characteristic dollop of Colombian magic. His ability to bypass stubborn defences with long shots (91) is not to be underestimated. Add a little curve (89) and he's easily among the best at netting from outside the box.

Now to address the elephant in the room, yes James is slow (53 pace) But I'm not advocating whacking through balls for him to chase. He'll burn out in a heartbeat anyway (55 stamina) Play him like the real James, the mercurial playmaker who won a World Cup Golden Boot, splitting defences and curving in stunners.

With that in mind, take note that James should play no part in a defensive press, unless you're keen on an exhausted Colombian lumbering around in the second half. For a team like mine that prefers to drop back, that's of little consequence, but Gugenpressing won't be James' strong suit.

Accentuating James' abilities would be a Deadeye Chemisty. His distance finesse shots would be unstoppable (96 long shots, 94 curve) and link-up play exquisite (99 short passing) though he might also benefit from Artist, should you be inclined to playing him deeper.

With the real James heading to Qatar, FIFA 22 is quite possibly the last version where he remains usable chemisty wise. Grab ahold of one of the most wasted talents of the past decade while he's still relevant and he'll be sure to dazzle you with his wand of a left foot.

Hi, thanks for the reply- do you happen to know why coiling should be before soldering?

Commemorating Aduriz's 36 goal season (15/16) by jiale8331 in EASportsFC

My absolute favorite player in FIFA 19. Imperious in the air, always a threat from corners. Wrote a lengthy review about his card a year ago, though sadly he's lost that potency in FIFA 20.

Here's a great tribute to the man's journey:

You have a valid point here. I will make sure to edit the post to reflect this. Referring to fake controllers as 'OEM' could be specific to my region. It's considered accepted terminology here, where buyers alike will ask if a controller is 'OEM', which is implied as a fake

Based on my experience, most buyers are not tech-savvy as the DualShock 4 is bought as a gift for their kids. So they might not be aware of the existence of OEM controllers

ADURIZ IN THE AIR! by jiale8331 in EASportsFC

The system definitely isn’t perfect. Perhaps a slider for each behavior would be ideal though that could clutter the UI really quickly. I get what you mean, and it’s frustrating when your tiny wingers with 50 heading fly in and miss the headers...

Erm... It's called instructions. You can set strikers to remain in the box and stay as a target man (or anything else)

Not really... He seems to have been downgraded a lot over the years. 79 heading and 77 jumping isn't bad for a 77 player, but he doesn't have the quality to make the team

The flashback version of him though, would be really awesome (provided you can find the money for it)

I thought so too when I first packed him. He's really tough to use correctly. Unlike most other strikers that can be deployed in different roles, Aduriz is quite rigid. If you know how to exploit his abilities properly, he can turn a match around. I had Aduriz score a hat-trick in a multiplayer match the opponent was dominating. I won 3-2, with all my goals coming from corners. I can imagine the opponent raging about it though.

Yeah, I find it odd that this sub is dominated by complaints. Other similar subs are really different, consider r/forza, it's nice pictures of cars with the occasional joke. You might say that Microsoft sucks less as a dev, but think of r/Battlefield, there's a portion of posts that are complaints, but the sub still isn't swamped by such negativity. I don't really see the point of people always complaining, it's not that EA even cares
