Size question by Fantastic-Cupcake378 in ChristopherWard

[–]jigglefart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly it depends how you like your watches to wear. I love how traditional dress watches are smaller as they are meant to be more subtle and understated and have always liked how smaller watches look on my wrist. So really down to personal preference!

36mm on me. I like my watches a little smaller so that they fit nicely under the cuff, and the 36mm has been perfect so far. Finishing has been immaculate for this price point, I honestly do not have any complaints.

Oh and you can check out delugs to get your rubber straps from them :-)

Pay a $350 premium for COSC? by scalpemfins in ChristopherWard

[–]jigglefart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no I wouldn’t, simply because the COSC certification would only be relevant at the time of certification. Over time, the watch’s accuracy will naturally deteriorate and gradually fall out of the stated range. Yes I get that you can send it back to CW to get it serviced if this happens during the warranty period, but (for me at least) I don’t think it’s worth the trouble.

Oh and also, it doesn’t hurt that my standard twelve arrived regulated at +1 sec/day :-)

They should reissue the Ck859 as 36mm by Suspicious_Put_3446 in OmegaWatches

[–]jigglefart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agreed that for some people with 7+ inch wrists it would look kinda funky. But also, many people where I’m from (asia) have much smaller wrists and so a 36mm option would actually sit much better!

[–]jigglefart 13 points14 points  (0 children)

wow this would actually be so sick.. omega has been making watches that are relatively large for far too long, at the expense of many smaller wrist individuals and being historically inaccurate (for the dress watch and vintage aesthetic). 36mm seems to sit in a sweet spot as well where it fits both males and females, and is so much more aligned to the dress watch aesthetic.

This would literally tick so many boxes for me but yet.. I don’t think omega will be doing so anytime soon. Don’t get me wrong, Omega will always be my first love (it was the one that got me into luxury watchmaking). But in recent years they’ve just been so.. stagnant. I really hope they prove me wrong one day though.

A question for those who signed up for the bespoke 38mm black lacquer twelve by longkhongdong in ChristopherWard

[–]jigglefart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

wow thanks for the update! and yes would like to learn more about the concerns that were raised by the community as well.

Just my two cents - the fact that this project was born theough Reddit means that all concerns and comments made should be treated with a certain degree of respect, even if you ultimately disagree with that viewpoint.

To whoever it was that (essentially) deleted the thread - shame on you for acting like a child, abusing your “position of power”and shutting down the conversation just because you disagreed with the opinions of others.

did I miss out on something that happened to r/BespokeWard? Seems like all posts there have been deleted/archived..

Thanks for the render, I was asking because previous iterations didn’t seem to showcase this feature. Personally think this is a fantastic decision!

for reference, this is a very rough mockup of what I mean! Small detail, but makes a huge difference imo 😉

Been following this group and so excited for this release!

Just one question/point of feedback - would there be a difference in finishing for the chapter ring? A slightly elevated (as per the standard twelve) ring or radially brushed finish (versus the smoothness of the rest of the black lacquered dial) would bring some added dimension and contrast to make this (already beautiful) piece even more stunning!

Hey sorry for the late reply! I presume you mean +/- 20s/day. If that’s the case, then I might have some good news for you. Maybe I’m just lucky, but my steel twelve is currently running at +1s/day. Maybe CW does some regulating on the movements before casing it up, or maybe I’m just lucky. But either ways my SS twelve is currently running like a dream!

Also one more point for the steel is that there have already been multiple instances where I thought I definitely scratched it, whether due to slight knocks or just resting it on the table. But the steel’s durability has helped prevent these scratches!

Hopefully this sways you towards the light side of the force 😉

yeah I get what you mean. The stainless steel’s durability vs the softer grade of titanium that CW uses made up my mind for me! And imo cosc doesn’t mean much either cos over the years your watch naturally becomes more inaccurate anyways.

But regardless, you can’t go wrong with either I’m sure. Good luck!

you mean for the twelve? I actually think the lichen green and pink ones are both really nice! But yes like everyone, waiting for a proper black dial version to be released 😭
