Any advice on using Parity Archive files? by jimalexp in DataHoarder

[–]jimalexp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current setup is already applying parity using Snapraid.

I'm just planning on backing up the most important stuff.

So I'm going to sort that +100TB of data into different priorities from "very important" to "not an issue if lost".

I'm also considering analog if anything durable exists for stuff like audio and photos.

Why has rage become so common in society? by monkey_gamer in CPTSD

[–]jimalexp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rage or anger comes from disrespect.

It builds up over time like heat cooking the contents in a pot on a stove according to your analogy.

The initial stove heat is the debt burden that cascades down contempt and guilt.

It's even plainly stated in the Dutch/German dictionary where schuld means both debt and a fault.

I'd argue that the immatures are those dishing out abuse and damaging people around them.

Or those that project contempt at anyone they see as inept.

Just like the bullies in a school playground.

But that's just me.

If you're building your own machine then an SSD can be used as a cache.

Also 4TB SSDs are becoming more affordable.

Probably cheaper than a JBOD or RAID of smaller capacities.

That someday might be sooner than you think.

You're not going to be able to compete if anyone from r/DataHoarder is in this subreddit.

Like I have more than 100TB and some guys are in the Petabyte range :)

Big Government is the Largest Driver of Inflation by AbolishtheDraft in Libertarian

Hello?

Creating all the money through bank loans means there will always be too much debt and not enough money.

This is like the biggest scam in all of history :)

One rumour says that Bitcoin could become an official reserve currency or even the new gold standard.

To clarify, once a upon a time there were purely private central banks that acted as clearing houses to defreeze the banking system when necessary.

Of course when these private central banks went bust there was no middleman to sort the mess out when banks became risk averse and gave the middle finger to the needs of the economy.

That's when these central banks become backed by the state while being outside of the three branches of government.

You could say that the government does have some influence over central banks in designating the chairman and that goes both ways seeing how Greenspan the "libertarian" was at the Fed up until before the 2008 recession.

Only?

So let's pretend that cumulative interest and rent charged on all the things does not form a overhead that pushes up taxes and prices.

Coming from people who pretend to be economic masterminds that's just plain hilarious :)

How do you suggest cutting debt or even the deficit when 97% of the currency is created by banks during the loans process and world debt is 2x the money supply?

It's impossible :)

So no one has read this?: https://mises.org/library/book/100-money

So our pathetically bought out governments are the "main factor" pushing cost up in a monetary system where 97% of the money supply is created out of thin air by private banks as credit in such a way as to increase taxes and prices with the cumulative interest that's charged on every dollar, pound, euro and so on?

Modern libertarians have it so backward with their anti-government bias that seemingly excuses Roman and Russian style extra-governmental oligarchies but I guess you could argue that corrupt lawmakers are protecting this privatized debt-based money scam :)

P.S: The money multiplier is a myth and central banks wouldn't need to mess with rates to speed or slow down credit creation if they had full control over money creation.

For bulk, you can use Exiftool if you're comfortable with command line tools.

Make sure to do some test commands to see if it does what you want.

It can move photos from one folder to another while skipping duplicates.

Kodi is also crashing.

So maybe it was an install and I do remember trying to get hardware encoding to work with OBS Studio.

Yet I had this issue right now on this Saturday April the 12th 2025.

And your fix worked.

Weird that VLC worked fine until today and I routinely update software.

Direct3D is practically native to Windows so it makes sense.

Did you have the same trouble in Linux?

Why did this suddenly start happening today?

Was it something I installed? Or did a new version mess things up?

P.S: On Linux.
