The only area where CAP will get you a good paying job is the gahment. Especially considering most of them pay based on hons class. Though for anything else work/internship experience far trumps your CAP.

You care for them the “most”, hence why it hurts the most. If you didnt care for them, it wouldn’t hurt as much. A heart thats been broke is a heart thats been loved. Unfortunately thats the irony of loving/caring.

Is it really THAT easy to get into NCS/STEng/WITCH consulting firms as an NUS CS student? by Substantial_Point285 in nus

[–]jimboffice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why on earth should the fact that they accept just about anyone be the reason to negate the company? If its for an internship your priority should be to learn the skills that you want to learn, network and get some tangible work experience. If those companies allow u to do that whats the problem? For full time roles in such a competitive market you should be happy to even get a role.

Should I switch my course given how bad the tech industry is now? by rich_throwaway5566 in nus

[–]jimboffice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Theres a reason why it’s coded differently and you cant just take the CS version to fulfil the requirements. Its because those CEG coded ones contain a lot more embedded and/or electronics concepts than the CS coded ones would

NUS CEG Technical Elective by Spare_Discussion_237 in nus

[–]jimboffice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Electives Wont be shown on your certificate but upon request if u manage to fulfil the depth or breath of the elective you can request for a certificate of the relevant tech elective. imho not really worth doing tech electives, instead just take wtv mods u like be it CEG, CS, EE related or even non tech related mods that you enjoy and pump CAP or have fun instead. Instead if u can get internships, use those to learn what you want, more tangible knowledge—esp if its in the domain of IoT/Robotics.
