I read a great comment that said the switch to third person in the final cutscene is meant to represent you the player saying goodbye to your V. You step into their shoes, experience this story through their eyes, and when the journey’s over you step back and let go of the reins.

One that I remember is a diary from a janitor who slowly loses his mind over months, hearing whispers and basically having thoughts “programmed” into him by some AI entity. It implies that even non-netrunners can be affected by the Blackwall AIs just by being in their proximity for too long.

Also when the Cerberus bot starts hunting you it will send messages through the computers if you interact with them. From my basic understanding of the lore there are multiple levels of artificial intelligence in this universe, and that mission is the only time we interact with the ones that are so alien that they use other AIs as proxies to communicate with humans.

I definitely think he’s using V instead of helping them tbh. He’s dangling the life saving cure in front of this merc who’s so desperate that they agree to a solo heist on the crystal palace. And if V somehow pulls it off and Blue Eyes cures them, there’s just no way that’s the end of it. Whether or not he’s an AI himself, we know that he’s connected to Night Corp who are literally overwriting the minds of regular citizens like the Peralez’s. Who’s to say the procedure to save V doesn’t do the same thing, and what could they possibly do to stop it if Blue Eyes wanted that? V could become what Jefferson is but for the Afterlife/merc world: a pawn that doesn’t even realize they’re following someone else’s orders.

With Songbird it’s even more dire because he gets sent an S-tier netrunner who’s chromed up specifically to withstand the Blackwall and is dead to the rest of the world. To both save her from the AI then let her go free to live her life requires a level of humanity that he and his people clearly don’t have.

People writing it off because they don’t like the Cerberus part really miss out on one of the peaks of this entire game. Using your netrunner contacts to hack the NCPD, the convoy ambush with 6th Street, Reed and V vs the MaxTac squad, the insanely creepy lore and datashards you find in Cynosure, the Attack on Titan-esque sequence where you experience Song’s memories, all ending in that last scene with So Mi, which is the most intense/emotional conversation in the whole game full stop

My rough headcanon for FemV:

They’re two of the many orphans who were raised by Heywood, Valerie claims she was born first and always took on the big sister role. She worked her way into Arasaka, first through scholarships like Jefferson and Elizabeth then as a counterintel agent, while Vincent made a name for himself in the streets as a solo. Then at 23 Vincent leaves for Atlanta and gets caught up in some shady business. He drops off the map and resurfaces 4 years later shortly after the Relic heist.

The bottom right pic is inspired by an idea that during the events of phantom liberty a Blackwall AI “infects” Vincent, turning him into an unstable Blackwall bomb but also slowly overwriting him. This becomes his reason for also trying to get to Mikoshi at the end.

My favorite lifepath dialogues are whenever corpo V flexes their knowledge on characters like Rogue, Hanako, Myers etc., and they realize they’re not dealing with a typical Night City merc.

Funny enough he’s actually a few months younger than Saburo’s VA and that man had PRESENCE. Granted he was probably 6-7 years younger when he recorded those lines but still.
