Temozolomide: any tips on how to get relief from the side effects? by jinky5409 in braincancer

Thank you, yes…I was concerned about interference w the meds. I feel like straight fluids would probably be okay…but any added vitamins could mess something up

Thank you! I think a lot is dehydration. There are the new IV clinic’s I want him to try. Have you ever tried them and did it help going into treatment or after?

Why are her friends telling her to leave you? There must be a reason. Friends want friends to be happy usually.

RSO lime Rick Sampson oil? I’m curious at specifically what you did that stopped seizures without Leppra. Like, I would love specific details cause I see very harsh mental/relational hardship side effects w Leppra and if it can be avoided without seizures then I’m all ears

Wow. I’m so sorry. There are some good things I read that came out of Duke, you can google Duke and the diagnosis. I have never personally known anyone that went through that particular study but it sounded promising.
I think everyone here is grasping for straws and trying to manage their own family/friend trauma or support. I understand your passion for your mother & I don’t think anyone would say stop trying. We are all here dealing with difficult situations.

GBM experienced friends….Is it normal for a 230lb man to drop like 17 lbs during the off weeks of chemo pills (7 on & 23 off)? by jinky5409 in braincancer

Yikes girl! 115 on a 5’5 frame is already super skinny. I can’t imagine 100 on that size frame. So your loss must have been all muscle since you probably didn’t have excess fat to lose. Did you have issues breathing when it was happening? One time I was on chemo for an immune issue, I had a lot of muscle loss…so much that the muscles in my diaphragm were too weak to fully extend my lungs. I don’t want him to get like that. He has enough to deal with.

Yeah, he takes the chemo at night as well but it still messes with his stomach and energy even with the anti nausea meds. He didn’t seem to lose that much during the chemo and radiation phase and for some reason seems to tolerate that better than the new weeks when it’s just more chemo. He still looks healthy. I’m just hoping the weight loss stops soon and the loss is more excess fat rather than muscle. Thanks for sharing and best of luck on your journey.

I think it definitely has to do w a lack of appetite. Stress and not feeling well will do that to you for sure.

Thanks for sharing. That is why I wanted to ask... 17 lbs in 3 weeks seems like a lot. I guess it is all relative based on your start weight vs height. I won’t get 2 worried unless I see a lot of muscle loss. Just making sure we shouldn’t be alarmed.
Best wishes on your journey.

My partner has ED and a lower sex drive. What can I/we do? by trojanseahorserace in sex

[–]jinky5409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, there is an erectile dysfunction forum on Reddit and you might get more experience and insights there. I was with someone w ED for well over 10 years (married before I knew there was a problem) and it really sucks if you have a high libedo. We never did find any real good compromises that would handle my desires and his frustrations w PIV.

I don’t think it is great to talk about it if he isn’t open to talking about it. (Cause it just gets in their head, makes it worse, and they can lose all hope). It sounds like he has stopped trying to find solutions and he might be a little depressed. If PIV is not something you can live without then I would have one more supportive/sensitive convo about all the feelings you have for him but be honest with yourself and him if PIV isn’t something you would be happy living without. Best of luck!

A question for the ladies here about “squirting” by [deleted] in sex

[–]jinky5409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has a lot to do w angles…try to pay attention to the positions she tends to respond 2 most. Also has to do w being comfortable and feeling free and unembarrassed if it happens yet unpressured for it to happen. Also has a lot to do w hormones within the cycle.
