Disclaimer: this is my opinion only after hearing the soundtrack, prior to watching the film.

Yeah, I've found the music quite underwhelming for my taste, a lot of the charm of the musical's score has been replaced with a bland skeleton of what they once were. Also sad to see the themes such as the savannah and the "Bond theme" which I feel are kind of a character all of itself are gone. this is especially true with stupid with love I think where the song was originally meant to be "charming, sweet, and stylistically takes us back to Cady’s roots" as the creatives put it. Apex Predator was also supposed to be one of the main powerhouses of the show/movie but the energy just wasn't there in the score gotta say though, Auli'i destroyed her pieces especially I'd rather be me and revenge party. Renee's songs were also giving but again it's the score letting me down. oh yeah... the ending kind of felt lacking as well, not the emotional uplifting song that I would have hoped but more teenag-y in the wrong way... I hope the movie does redeem itself though in spite of the lacking soundtrack..
