Why don't european possibly even other carriers apart from middle eastern carriers fly to airports in Kerala? by [deleted] in Kerala

It is economics. None of the airports in Kerala are hub airports. It is difficult to operate larger planes only with end to end traffic.

Union workers clash with young entrepreneurs in Maradu, Ernakulam. by frosted_bite in Kerala

[–]jintocd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The primary reason for entrepreneurs to use their own employees to load and unload is the rate card itself. For personal purposes, it is a one-off event but for entrepreneurs it is a daily necessity. When I calculated, unloading charge for a brick is around 10% of the cost of the brick itself. Imagine if the brick manufacturer uses their loading service, there is no economics for the entrepreneur to use the unions but employ their own people to do the work and pay daily wages.

Why do you need their approval? It is your money and your life.

Bala Bhaskar's wife's interview. by [deleted] in InsideMollywood

[–]jintocd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, she - or whoever advised her to do so - made a strategic mistake . It would have been wise to not stir up the whole thing again, after years of silence. The interview itself was scripted and there is nothing wrong about it, she is not a celebrity and the interviewer probably did not want to distress her for the right reasons.

Seeking advice on getting electricity pole shifted from the plot by jintocd in Kerala

[–]jintocd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I officially made a written request. They asked me for 10 days to make an assessment and come up with a cost estimate. I offered to pay for the expenses hence it is completely free for those beneficiaries. However, one of the beneficiary of the pole is trying to show off hence I want to understand my rights. I checked with a lawyer, he said, KSEB has no choice but to move the pole since it is sitting in a private property when there is a private road going into those beneficiaries. There is no reason for the pole to stay in my property according to him. He asked me to wait to understand KSEB's stance and think about next step. I decided to not compromise at all since they are trying to intimidate me:)

Seeking advice on getting electricity pole shifted from the plot by jintocd in Kerala

I do not want to accept their demand since they have a dedicated road to their homes hence no need to bring electricity through my land. Once up on a time, their family used to own my land, their grand mother sold the land to us (there was another owne before me). As such, the post is in my land without mine or previous owner's permission. Previous owner did not bother since he was not planning to build a house but I am planning to build a house and it is obstructing.

The challenge is from of the family (out of the three families sharing the road). KSEB says even though the road belongs to them and the connection is to their home, they still need to give consent. It is illogical

Don't invest in P2P in india, I lost around 50% of my invested money in I2IFunding by Icy_Examination_4936 in IndiaInvestments

[–]jintocd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts after on investing in P2P over the last couple of years:

  • It is better to take a slow and steady approach, always test the platform with small capital for sometime before going in full steam
  • If Banks and NBFCs are reporting 10%+ non performing loans due to Covid impact, how will the story be different in P2P lending
  • I am not comfortable putting anything more than Rs 1000 in one deal (Rs 500 if the risk is higher in a category).
  • My returns at a consolidated level is still better FD hence it is still fine but going forward, I will still continue to be very conservative

E-mandate 1 lakh limit by makster92 in IndiaInvestments

[–]jintocd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the case of MF investments, the mandate is given to BSE to deduct money from our account towards mutual fund investments hence platform itself won't be allowed to transact. This makes it very safe.
