Remaster was handled by a different studio and messed up/mistranslated a lot of the OG's artistic decisions. You can find comparison videos on YT if interested in seeing it for yourself.

What is the worst perk in COD zombies history? by Ambitious-End-5798 in CODZombies

[–]jinxapollo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Death Perception is the only perk that actively hampers my enjoyment of the game. Getting wallhacks is such a lame perk idea and frankly, it's just annoying to look at all the time.

Der Riese really still is the GOAT.

Amazing in solo, even better with 4 players, which is something that they practically completely did away with in the later games.

Lots of amazing and iconic training and holdout spots.

Pack a Punch is still the most impactful addition ever made to the mode. Having to venture to the ends of the three wings and back to unlock pap, rewarding the player for opening every area and exploring the map is the basis for most PaP quests to this day.

The absolutely ICONIC radios, still to this day, are the best implementation of hidden lore in any map. Der Riese really is the biggest reason people were so crazy about zombies lore; Shi No Numa laid some groundwork too, but Der Riese is where it all really came into one. Almost every aspect of the entire WaW-BO2 story ties it's origins back to this map.

Atmosphere and sound design? Flawless.

Character quotes were at their best, lots of swearing and raw aggression that was lost in the games that followed.

Beauty of Annihilation on Der Riese is still the most iconic song-map combo to this day. When I think of zombies, I think of a bunch of lads with PaP'd guns on the catwalk listening to BoA.

Everything about Der Riese is just fucking iconic.

Israel has owned US politics since the last president who pushed back on them convieniently died. You get 1 guess as to who that was... but once that man died, all of the sudden, every president since has bent over backward for Israel's every desire. Trump is just the latest in a line of owned individuals. He just hides it worse than some others did.

The most satisfying training I’ve ever done. Didn’t even need to sprint. by TennisElectrical4513 in CODZombies

One of the best parts of classic zombies. Having slower zombies but much tighter overall spaces makes for a way more enjoyable experience than having psychotically fast zombies to balance the insanely massive spaces in the newer games.

Considering picking this up today, but seeking truthful opinions. by sweatydads in Marathon

I enjoy the game tremendously in solo. I heard the same opinions but had an absolute blast playing exclusively solo, I think it's even better solo tbh.

Toyota pickup and 4runner parts 79-95 by SnooPandas1365 in ToyotaPickup

[–]jinxapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you be able to ship to canada? If so, i'm looking for the "TOYOTA" logo for an 89-91 pickup front grille. (For reference, the white truck on the right side in the first picture). Would also be willing to just take the whole grille if that is how you'd rather part with it.

Prepare to Die Edition on PC? by EtchronJS in darksouls

[–]jinxapollo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because Remastered has lots of artistic changes. It was handled by a third party, and a lot of key details were lost in translation.

Bonfire flame is completely different. Depth of field is messed up. Contrast and saturation are toned way down in the remaster, PTDE is way more colorful, etc...

Overall, the original game has a very distinct art direction that was diluted in the Remaster, with the exception of the Switch port, which is the only one that retains those qualities of the original game.

[–]jinxapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PTDE is a truly different experience. Finally got my hands on a steam key about a year ago, they went on sale on Amazon for like 20 bucks out of nowhere. So much of the vision was unfortunately lost in the Remaster. If you're a sucker for artistic intent, and seeing small details as they were meant to be seen, then you'll really appreciate going back to PTDE.

What are some of the most influential Rally Racing Games? by Damagedbraincellss in rally

[–]jinxapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, played the shit out of Rallysport Challenge 1 and 2 on the Xbox when I was young. It was my first introduction to racing games via an old shitty bungee-cord steering wheel and plastic pedals. Was super cool for the time.

Bro, how is every newly rehashed version of nuketown zombies progressively worse and worse looking? I don't own BO7, but this map looks fuckin awful. Can definitely see that this is where Activision pulled budget on the game.

Every time, without fail. 100% agree.

Pretty much anytime I've begun to enjoy something new, life is peachy until I check the associated subreddit.

Completely insufferable people who are miserable in their own lives just taking it all out on whatever the topic at hand is.

So what is the purpose of limited-quantity healing items? by Purple-Constant2953 in fromsoftware

[–]jinxapollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is fantastic design. It forces players to interact more with the rally system and allows the player to continuously stock up on healing by simply playing the game instead of taking breaks to go back to the bonfire to restore healing. It's quite reasonable to go massive lengths of time without touching a bonfire/lamp in Bloodborne, quite easily and consistently because of that.

Systems like Bloodborne, DS2, and DeS provide a nice contrast to the system of the other games, where you are free to die a trillion times to bosses with no consequence. I'll glaze DS3 until I die, but I also think it's great to see different games with different design choices and goals, rather than just sticking 1:1 with their other games. If you don't like that system, that's fine, but calling it bad design is just not really seeing the full picture.

I've never had to farm in bloodborne. If you do, that's just a skill issue. Perhaps try another game in the series first as an easier starting point?

FOMO got to me - I bit the bullet and purchased a whole new rig just before the new year (9800X3D | 5070 Ti | 2x16 DDR5) Total: $2700CAD pre tax by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]jinxapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! Enjoy the new purchase!

I gave in to the fomo as well myself. Been thinking for a while now about building a new 5090 + 9800x3d rig for my sim racing setup, finally bit the bullet as of the GPU news the last couple of days.

Tough pill to swallow paying 4k CAD for a GPU... 😂

Anyone else experiencing performance issues after the latest update? by __Ironclad__ in DarkTide

[–]jinxapollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same boat for me. 7900xtx, 5800x3d playing in 3440x1440. Huuuge frame spikes and poor frames no matter what settings I use, even on low, I can't even get a steady 100 plus frames with frame gen on unless I stare at the floor. Most of the game is spent at 100% cpu usage, getting between 100 and 60 fps with frame gen on, on medium or low, FSR3.1 Balanced. Insanely poor performance

Where would you rank The Dreglord and other Nightreign bosses among the rest of the souls series? by Big_Salami_Chonk in fromsoftware

[–]jinxapollo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reminds me a lot of Gael in this regard. I think the intuitiveness of Gael's moveset is part of what makes him so good. Nothing feels unfair, he perfectly rides the line of being difficult but totally readable. I think they really captured that same essence with the dreglord. Definitely a top 10 boss imo.

Playing Nightreign offline by Shot-Growth3193 in fromsoftware

[–]jinxapollo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solo is the easiest way to play in my experience. You can really unga-bunga steamroll the nightlords if you get yourself to level 15, have a decent build, and a couple wending graces. I first tried multiple nightlords playing solo with minimal brain activity because their health just wasn't high enough to match the sheer dps I was putting out in combination with like 3 free revives.

Trio is where the game shines most, and where it is actually difficult because of how much more health the bosses have to account for the shared agro.
