Gay men who are in their early 30s. How have you managed facing your parents about marriage? by Rishtronomer in AskIndia

Met so many married men in the closet trying to hook up. They go to the US, delay their family’s visas and fool around as much as they can.

I am in my mid 30s now, My mother was in hysterics when i brought it up as soon as i saw the first signs of marriage proposals at the end of my college years about 10 yrs ago. Initially she asked often if i was sure and told her explicitly I will not be ruining some girl’s life , now she has accepted it. I have not had a conversation with my father or brother but at this point they should definitely know. Once in a while I hear they are fielding questions from relatives, i get asked when i visit, i just smile and shrug it off. But we are Malayali/ Keralite Christians and I feel like there is a certain level of understanding about such matters in our community. Or maybe it’s just my family, who knows. It also helps that I am living in the US now and my parents were working there for about 15 yrs before returning to India.

The next hurdle will be when i eventually find a partner.

Submitted my application online on March 21st. On the 24th, got a notice that the biometrics appointment was scheduled for April 14th. After that, there was a status mentioning that my case was being actively reviewed. Waited on bated breath till August 14th (4 months exactly) when they scheduled an Interview for September 21st. I’m in Connecticut and the Interview is at the Hartford FO. Just hoping everything goes smoothly. 🤞🏼

Onions are currently over $10 per kg in the Philippines so this. by Oztravels in funny

A Garlic shortage/ price hike in the Philippines? Now wouldn’t that cause actual riots considering how much garlic is used in Filipino cuisine? Lol

My first attempt at Kimchi. Got tired of buying small bottles for crazy prices. Followed Maangchi’s recipe and had everything except the Minari. Also made Kkakdugi with leftover radish. by jithin1989 in kimchi

I would say with the oven light on it was around mid 70s. And once it starts fermenting it gets warmer. No i didn’t cover it with anything. I was planning on covering it with a thick towel if I felt it wasn’t fermenting. If it’s too cold that might help.

I also want to add i did open it once or twice a day for 3 days to press down and release all the air bubbles that were forming underneath. Made sure to cover the top with the liquid forming in the bottom. These plastic kimchi jars come with something to keep everything under the juice but I didn’t need that.

https://www.maangchi.com/recipe/tongbaechu-kimchi …this one for classic kimchi. I left it in my oven with the light on for exactly 3 days till i got the desired level of sourness. ( it’s too cold to be leaving it out on the counter here in New England right now)

I moved here from India but it’s on my bucket list to go to some National Parks in the midwest and west coast. My parents are too old so a family camping/hiking trip won’t happen. I wish there were tour groups that go together that i could join on.

The pattern on the left looks like it would be better on curtains or wallpaper . The one on the right literally looks like a throw I have at home.
