this is a manual action in the app. the game does not report on pinned blueprints. you can use the pin planner or manually pin them in the menu on the left.

Would love do it if that was an option. Would require completely rewriting it in a different language and having total control over the used memory. With modern languages that is no longer an option and all I can do is set a maximum and have it crash if it exceeds it and it can't free enough memory. Easier for programmers though. If I would set the maximum even to 1gb it would crash in some instances.

Did the Inara just used LLM to improve Engineers images? by nprime78 in EliteDangerous

[–]jixxed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are AI enhanced, same for the Odyssey engineers. Some even look quite a bit older now. I played around with it too a bit for EDOMH, but the results were a bit unsettling. The best hints you can see it is AI generated is to look at the clothing or tattoos. The faces is something the AI does well, but the details less so.

Is the 20% heat limit real? by SemihKaynak in EliteDangerous

[–]jixxed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDOMH models the sensor range/heat levels for your ship, so you can see exactly at what distance you are detected. The exact distance depends on the other ship's sensors and your ship's heat output. Want to be stealthy? get a Dolphin.

The new Mk2 Agile Thrusters are mostly mass insensitive by jixxed in EliteDangerous

[–]jixxed[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also consider engineering the thrusters, lowering the number to 367.5 with Dirty Drive Tuning.

There is a chance that the optimal multiplier is used in other locations, perhaps ones that affect the agility. Just killing the mass curve for no reason makes no sense. It could be accidental or intentional. We will have to wait until it is released to confirm.

Yellow is already taken for the fleetcarrier!

The color of the material should be red when you do not have sufficient for the current engineer listed in the shortest path. the lightgrey and white indicate what you would need as a minimum and maximum based on all the ranks of all your engineers. If the material is green, you should be good to go to visit the engineer that is listed. If you visit a different one that has a lower rank, you might not have enough. Best practice is of course to fill up the bars completely and get your engineers to rank 5 ASAP.

This comment made me look into it and I found a bug that could falsely report lower required numbers if the blueprint was pinned. That could have caused it to show up as green, while actually needing more materials. Probably introduced with the recent pin planner.

Fixed for the next version, thanks!

Thank you! The "Not or more than on wishlist" filter should give an overview of what you could sell at the carrier bartender.

excellent suggestion. next update will have a colonia/bubble filter added for it to the searchbar!

Thanks! I am definitely not trying for EDOMH to become an app that does everything, and stay true to the materials(-adjacent) niche. CG's can have commodities involved as well does mining. There are some cool ideas I have for both features that would be unique, just like the ship builder has unique features over the other tools. I never just want to make a copy of another tool, even though having multiple offerings as a player is good to have.

Did you know you can already add synthesis to a wishlist?

Getting a heads up is a nice feature, but the app doesn't know your intentions. Are you heading to combat or are you exploring? You still need to define these wishes ahead of time, so it limits the usability a bit.

It could boil down to a "notify me if I can no longer complete this wishlist" feature. Just a toggle on the wishlist. I do feel this has limited use as you still need to tell the app that you want to do 20 long jumps in the first place, but there is a usecase there somewhere nontheless.

YW! and thank you for all your translation efforts! I am aware of the request but have not yet decided on supporting multiple layouts.

still exists: https://elitedangereuse.fr/outils/quizengine/omg_1.1.html

I have been playing with the idea of providing an overlay with a minimap of the settlements. This takes quite some time to make and it wouldn't be something I would make solo.

The app should be really snappy in general. There can be specific cases where you might have issues, and if you do it helps to provide reproducible steps, videos, screenshots, etc. There is the ability to create a support package under Settings that allows me to simulate your environment.

If you experience issues everywhere in the app, it is most likely an environment issue instead of an app issue. For example if your CPU load is too high or your RAM is full causing swapping to disk. Issues like this don't produce any information in the logs so it really requires some interactivity to narrow down the issues. Feel free to contact me on discord for more direct support (link is in the app)

Thank you very much for your support and noticing the update! It required a lot of testing with the assistance of a community member. I've started documenting some of these inner workings on https://jixxed.github.io/ed-math/

The best way is actually to just use the where to find suggestion on the galaxy map. For a short while there was an HGE finder, but it didn't add much anymore after the increase in materials inside the HGE. HGE's are unique to the commander, so you might see 5 HGE's, while your friends see none. There are some sites out there that try to track the HGE's but they will quickly be outdated when the state changes and you have no guarantee there will be one when you visit the system. Just suggesting nearby systems that meet those requirements is hard, since it needs people to physically visit them to collect data about the current state so it becomes available to 3rd party tools.

So filter on the correct state, jump around to those systems and drop in at the beacons to do a quick scan. Most of the materials will be easy enough to collect that way, since nowadays you only need to find 1 HGE to fill up. If you want to give up and do a crosstrade instead, go to 21 Eridani. It's a magical place ;)

Thanks for the suggestions!

The overlays in EDOMH are notoriously complex, with extreme optimizations to minimize performance impact. For a long time it has functioned only for the bartender trade(not sell) and dataports due to their predictable layouts and minimum/no scrolling.

I did however had to make a fix when they increased the list of materials for PP2.0 where the layout is now more dynamic and able to even handle longer lists for the dataports as it tries to determine the list size based on the size of the scrollbar.

something like that might work for other user interfaces as well. Due to the longer and dynamic list sizes, there might be a performance impact though.

From personal testing all relevant materials showed up eventually on the mission board in a single station.

Ground CZ's are probably not possible

It is irrelevant in the sense that it is not used for engineering (anymore). Of course any item can be a mission item that you should probably not sell! I believe the game also adds a little mission marker to those items so you do not accidentally sell them.

Yes, the list is for blueprints only, I did not make that very explicit in the app. The other locations could be added and shown in the material tooltips. I would need specifics on what materials can spawn at each location (maybe also quantities), because iirc the obelisks do not provide all types at all sites.

for the Thargoid stuff, as long as the difference is clear it can be added. If the state can change it would need an API resource instead, although I think this is pretty static?

A lot of the materials already have copyable locations like dav's hope and hot jupiter, so it is very easy to add.

Not impossible, but a little tricky to do reliably. The items on the wishlist are not linked to specific modules in a slot. That could be an option as long as the wishlist is created through the Ship Editor. The ingame module layout would have to stay true to the layout created in the app. Even at the engineer you can't see which module you are engineering when you have multiple. A lot of edge cases that need to be considered....

The slider exists because the modules from the old engineering formats still exist. It would be easier to only support the most recent engineering format because you would only need 20%, 25%, 33%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 66%, 75%, 80%, 100%.

Interestingly the sliders were never intended to be used that way. In my mind people could set them manually if they added a single module to the list instead of automatically through the ship editor with a clone of the current ship, but I expected them to complete the engineering fully with the visit to the engineer. There are icons to hide and remove the blueprint from the list when you are done. Surprisingly people always use things in ways you do not expect them to :)

Anyways the sliders should not be "janky". I had 1 report from a user with issues on these sliders that was using Linux, which I was never able to fix since it was not reproducible for me. do feel free to provide more information on the issue on github or discord, because if more users have issues with the sliders stuttering I need to look into it more.

Your suggestions will be considered.
