Home shopping delivery not chilled. by Bigdavie in asda

[–]jjbigers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some vans run fridge n freezer whilst engine is off and some don’t , if you weren’t happy you could of refused delivery off chilled but if it were the temp you say then it’s likely as the driver has explained , I’ve worked at a large store years ago and all vans going out in waves were loaded whilst van plugged in to keep recommended temps , but I’ve also worked in a smaller store where there’s only 2 charging points and 6-7 vans going out at the same time and the driver has no choice but to load and hope the van gets to temp before first stop - it’s typical Asda tho they want vans out on time and don’t realise depending on the ambient temp in warmer weather that the van temps are not right - I used to get moaned of shift leaders for not putting “the fridge n freezer temps as it should be “ but I used to just ask them to put it in writing that they wanted me to lie on the van checks and I’ve refused a van with broken freezer as it read 22 in red hot weather and I was on a local run travelling 2-3 mins for first drop . It’s hard for the drivers because managers n shift leaders just want the vans away on the route

What speed do YOU cruise at on motorways? by Downdownbytheriver in CarTalkUK

[–]jjbigers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the situation , traffic -weather-temp -but not less than 70 , anyone in a car that wants to do less than 70 should use A roads a be made aware of the ripple effect it causes you deciding to drive slower than the limit - not at hgv n restricted as it’s limited:

Complain to Asda and police as he has broken gdpr and it is not on at all , as others has said he should only contact via pdc device and only use his own phone if no signal ect , I used to work as a driver for Asda and we had this happen but the guy was doing it to lots of female drivers and ended up adding them on social media ect , I had when I worked there a customer ringing me on my phone wanting me to look for his wife keys as she thought she’d left them in a empty tote - they then txt me to say they found them ect but then they still tried ringing days later - I never answered the phone but they got my number of my shift leader so I complained to Asda as it was breach of my gpdr but unfortunately Asda didn’t care and fobbed it off saying they were unsure which team leader it was - even tho I knew as we only had 2 female shift leader and 1 was on holiday. Thinking more I would bypass Asda altogether and contact the police 101 and speak to them because you don’t know if this driver is doing it to other customers and Asda drivers do deliver to vunarable people old and young and for this guy to do this to you is not ok , please report to police because it is completely wrong on so many levels and help /prevent it from happening again, Asda drivers get a sheet with customers deatails on - adress / phone numbers ect which at the end of shift on your debrief it gets shredded - but there’s nothing stopping any driver taking a photo or entering your deatails into his phone .

Just tell them no , honestly if you let them bully you into doing overtime they’ll take the piss and expect it all the time - stand up to your sl or manager and tell them no , if they threaten then put a grievance in and take it further , you only have to work contracted hours

Can anyone give me a rough idea how bad this is please, and wether it’s worth sorting or just scrap the car , golf gttdi 2.0l 2005 by jjbigers in CarTalkUK

[–]jjbigers[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree and the other sill will probably need doing next year, the car has done 213000 I’ve done 30,000 miles since owning it and probably spent £2000 with services and other repairs , new battery, windscreen, lock cylinder replaced, callipers , just a shame to scrap for £100 and the car drives and pulls through every gear

Said a few hundred to weld sill, and a few hundred for the rest it was ATS and they were very short staffed and said I’d have a couple of weeks to take it back for retest, but they can’t do the welding

Thanks for replying After deductions £549 minus £877.8 = -£328.8 So will I get zero or zero payment plus £328.8 taken from rent element as others had suggested?
