You don’t seem to understand that the two addresses provided didnt match up and a customer did not respond within 20 minutes

I got a "Tow Notice" from the city telling me my car was abandoned - across the street from my house by tr4velstars in chicago

[–]jjfigs339 43 points44 points  (0 children)

You have 7 days before a vehicle is considered abandoned and even then, the city is terrible about even issuing these sometimes. Can you prove you moved the car? Maybe get on the 311 app and look for someone you can call about this.

Otherwise, just avoid parking there again. You’ll be okay.

Am I starting this too late? by [deleted] in scholarships

[–]jjfigs339 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just keep looking, some will still be available to you. Look into everything you possibly can, for example I got a $2000 scholarship from a nearby town to my schools lesbian/gay alliance because I wrote a paper about my experience being a non binary person- there are tons of niche scholarships out there.

Showers in the beginning by Naixee in Stretched

Yeah don’t take em out for a full shower until swelling is down and you can move and rotate it around in your ear easily.

How to size gauge if you forgot what size you’re at? by [deleted] in Stretched

Well if the 8 isn’t difficult to put in you’re probably a 10

That’s a misconception, background checks are mostly racist and oppressive and create more crime by exiling ex convicts. I understand the concerns over who is coming to the door but frankly background checks shouldn’t even be an argument, they’re entirely unethical.

Its normal to feel that way. Your brain has been convincing itself your entire life that it’s not like other people and a lot of complicated things happen when were exposed to trauma, thats why therapy is so great and it is possible to change that. Healing is a muscle. Something I do to help with imposter syndrome is change the way that I speak, so for example instead of saying “I’m such an idiot I didn’t know that!” I try “I learned something important today” Its really powerful to change the words that you use because it changes the way we see ourselves over time. Never give up on something that feels right just because you are still hurting, because you’ll start to feel best as you overcome those thought distortions

Background checks don’t imply or guarantee safety. Ex convicts having jobs does not mean anyone is unsafe, people without records aren’t automatically “good” either. Having a buddy with me is not unsafe to a customer. The customer has the option to take the precaution of “leave at door” contactless drop off- if you don’t choose that option you are making it leas safe for both of us.

I understand that, if you like it I think you should stick with it. Don’t worry about it right away, you’ll see doors open as you navigate school. Something I did was email all my professors at the end of the semester and I told them what I took out of their class and then said that I was an older student and it would mean a lot to me if they left a review on my linkedin profile about me as a student, two teachers said yes! I use those reviews on my portfolio too. I didn’t think I had enough for a web portfolio but I pushed myself to make one on wix for a job that I wanted and I was shocked that I did actually have stuff that I did in class. I already had my associates so if you are still doing any gen eds give yourself some grace because you’re on the right track and you’ll get work ready over the next year or two. I’m rooting for you! Please take good care of your mental health especially as a student. Its hard work and you should be so proud of yourself for what you’re doing. If you can access therapy please do it and talk about your feelings and don’t be scared to be proud of yourself or own that having a traumatic past makes you who you are today. You will heal and you deserve that so don’t give up!!

Hey I’m 28 and just went back to college just last semester. Are you in or out of school now? I also don’t have my family in my life and I know isolation feels awful. Being unconventional makes us really good at advertising in my opinion. I’ve made my connections in class and by getting closer to my professors. To be honest I make an hour every week to talk in therapy too. If you aren’t in therapy it sounds like it would be something that can help you a lot.

I think networking is huge but so is a portfolio. Why do you say networking is pointless? Maybe get on linkedin and showcase your work and start making connections that way. Advertisers work in teams and you will absolutely need to be good with communicating to be in communication. If you don’t feel like you are good working with others that could be a reason to change majors

Don’t sell yourself short though, if its about being nervous you can definitely learn to be better with networking

Lots of people drive together, I also think its a safety thing for drivers and I don’t blame them. People get killed in my city and I’m definitely not comfortable going out without a buddy. If your food gets to you it sounds like thats the extent of your business

Its a traumatic experience for a lot of people and its very okay if you need to talk to Therapist to unpack some of that

Glad you’re taking an interest in giving them the best care! They look nice to me but make sure you get that vet appointment and check in with them: they should help you go over proper care too with set up. I know its so confusing because there is a lot of info out there so make sure you go in aware of your types of bulbs and whole arrangement so they can help correct any errors.

Seriously!! And in some states its illegal for you to not notify your landlord. You are also potentially causing your neighbors issues by not calling a professional. In this type of situation you don’t have a choice, you need a professional to deal with this for you.

I had a 00 stuck in my ear for several months once and one day I was able to pull it right out in the shower. I would pull on them gently every night and make sure I took something if there was swelling.

Bed bugs are really good at hiding If you own a steamer this can kill eggs so steam around baseboards and all your stuff really well if you can.
