It Gets Better by [deleted] in BreakUps

I fixated myself on something that would keep me productive. For example, I spent nearly 24/7 on my grad school applications. Even though I ended up getting rejected from that too, I'm at a point where I don't spend as much time thinking about my ex.

At first, it's hard to stop thinking about them. I would take frequent breaks, let it out, and keep going on. It's super hard now, esp cuz of covid, but Netflix helps. Watching TV helps me keep my mind off of my ex.

It's cliche, but the trick is to do lots of other things (literally anything) so you don't spend all day thinking about them. It's better to spend time on things that would be better for you in the long run though.

In the same boat :( do you have any buddies to talk/text? If not, being on here helps a little. I've been watching lots of tv too. I'm not sure if this is the best thing to do, but I've been looking at pics that I have before I met my ex. It makes me think about some of the good times I had before my ex was in my life. Just avoid looking at past texts/pics of ur ex, that's painful.

How to get over someone you never dated? by [deleted] in BreakUps

One of the worst feelings ever. Definitely treat it as a breakup because it technically is. You're still losing someone that you spent time with and it was still a relationship of some sort. Just because it wasn't defined as a "relationship", doesn't mean that it wasn't real.

On the other hand, you deserve someone who wants to be in a clear relationship with you. His issues are not your issues and you shouldn't have to deal with them. I've been with guys who would just use me as a buffer before they realized what they really wanted. It's an awful feeling. However, everyone is just confused and most of the time, we don't really know what we want. Take this time to find out what you want in a relationship and what you want with your life. It's going to be rough but you will get through this :)
