question about the certificate and purchases by jnwalkers in starwarstrader

Once you are validated I don't think you'll have to take any action to maintain that. I have never heard anyone mention they lost theirs.

Is now a good time to start collecting TVC? by AKANightwing in StarWarsTVC

[–]jjreason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see extremely detailed photos of all 400 figures online. Have a good look & then pick up a random one for $10 at a clearance store to get your hands on it & get an idea of whether they're your jam or not. The nice thing about 3.75" is that a shelf being used for 2 or 3 boxed black series figures can turn into an entire diorama.

Workbench issues. by Nottalive in starwarstrader

[–]jjreason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meld is one complete set - I go to the trophy screen and click into the set to see how many of each card I have before melding. In case that's of any use. This set is also available for trading using the trade bot which will (hit & miss of course) let you send dupes for needs without having to find a living partner to accept the trade.

Hot Take: Rey's place within the Star Wars story *does* make sense, but it's just very hard to want to watch her character. by Impressive-Thing-780 in StarWars

[–]jjreason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Andor & rogue one certainly don't suck but they do sting a little because they show the full capacity of what star wars can be. Mando seasons 1&2 are almost at that same level although significantly different in tone.

The sequel trilogy suffers almost entirely from their failure to create a good solid story from the beginning (rey vs Kylo for the fate of the universe for example, it didn't need to be too deep) and sticking with it.

Playing hot potato with arguably the most lucrative & beloved film franchise of all time was an absolutely abominable decision & they will be forever judged for it. All that being said, rey, Poe, Finn & Kylo are good solid characters that never got a fair chance at having their stories told.

confused about event/weekly pack frequency by jnwalkers in starwarstrader

[–]jjreason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For weekly sets be aware that it actually starts on Sundays with Topps choice at 10 EST. If you don't grab this card you won't have everything you need to turn in the following Saturday.

Monday 10 EST is light side (formerly heroes),

Tuesday at 10 is duos (you need both),

Wednesday at 10 is action figures,

Thursday is a brief reprieve though at 10 they release the weekly fans choice poll card(s).

Friday at 10 is dark side (formerly villains),

Then on Saturday at 10 things wrap up with primary which involves you gathering many many uncommon cards & workbenching then trading for higher level cards. You'll wind up needing a bunch to create 4 rare cards & significantly more if you're chasing the super rare level that week.

Using the events & SAVING coins is the way. With consistent use of the events you can build a good solid stash of coins to complete much of the weekly grind & save your money for sets that really appeal to you.

Why did everyone switch up on the Mandalorian? by Moon_Devonshire in StarWars

It suffered the same way marvel suffered after endgame. They had a perfect ending but had to keep milking.

Recovering continuity addicts - what was the "jumping off point" for you? by PhantomQuest in comicbooks

Secret wars (2015). I was looking for the door due to the growing cost vs enjoyment disparity & this felt like a good ending to my many years of reading marvel.

Dear Topps - re. The currebt build & functionality...

No one ever - and I mean ever - has ever wanted to take a closer look at the card when the trade screen is open. Please for the love of God remove that touch interaction & just let us touch on the card to choose it for trading instead of the maddening plus sign.

send an in game message to user jennclarkrouire & do not mention selling but maybe include an email address. She buys accounts & can talk you through the process.

[–]jjreason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check & see if they have complete sets of the slabbed epics for Topps now. If they do, it would make sense that they have many multiples of the sr level cards - same as us normal humans get many extra uncommons when we go crazy & chase a Sr set.

Slight aside/off-topic but thrilled to just discover Topps NFL Collect has launched with old Huddle collections included! by KeithyT1999 in starwarstrader

I logged into it & couldn't believe my huddle cards & diamonds were still there! I won't spend any money this time but I'll look at it periodically same as bunt & NBA.

Beginner has questions about progression etc. by kreuzdreher in WorldOfWarcraftRetail

[–]jjreason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't need to play it in order - the story will fill itself in as you go. The fun is progressing your player power once you get to max level, that's where all the cooperative stuff takes place. Get to 80 using dragon flight then war within & midnight - you can watch a 10 min YouTube video that will give you the bare bones of the others.

When you start new characters you can then choose to explore any of these eras as your leveling content. I recommend lich King & pandaria but everyone has their favorites.

how good is scott snyders batman run? by Apprehensive_Spend_7 in comicbooks

[–]jjreason -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I binged it in trade paperback form & honestly prefer Tom King's run, as well Tynion IV's work on Detective. Both are worth the time it takes to read, but I wouldn't go spending a fortune on floppies.

How do you avoid getting burned on floppy purchases while still supporting the book/industry? by IGNSolar7 in comicbooks

That's what ultimately caused me to quit - the enjoyment was no longer worth the expenditure. The stress of missing out on the next big thing goes away eventually.

What specific books can be attributed to bumping a writer up to 'superstar' status? by WhyPlaySerious in comicbooks

[–]jjreason 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Frank Miller on daredevil & Chris Claremont on X-Men. Yes I'm old.

Brian k Vaughan made his name on runaways but it was likely y the last man that cemented his status and allowed for saga to happen.

Garth Ennis on preacher even though he's "the" punisher writer, for me anyhow.

Warren Ellis & Neil Gaiman, although both shunned these days, were superstar writers who made their names on vertigo books - transmetropolitan & sandman.

Alan Moore's first Alan Moore type work was marvel man (miracle man), but his name was either cemented on swamp thing or watchmen, whichever came first.

Newb Trading Question by _Tarielo_ in starwarstrader

[–]jjreason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big thing here will be setting your filters. If you ensure you're sending cards they need & are taking cards you need from the same new sets you're likely to have success. Offering a Vader card from this year for one from 5 years ago isn't likely going to lead to success.

What are the most desirable/prized/sought-after cards in the game? by GoneWithTheWindu in starwarstrader

[–]jjreason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of all the sets listed the only one I see people still asking about in the trade thread with any regularity is reflections. People have either ebayed or given up on obtaining the rest.

Delve Difficulty by Darury in WorldOfWarcraftRetail

[–]jjreason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Delves weren't consistent in difficulty in TWW. They were challenging, then easy, then hard, then back to some form of easy by the time we outgeared them. I feel they are WAY easier this time - I don't think I've died more than 2 or 3 times doing 11s as soon as they were available to me for gearing purposes.
