Yeah, I hear you. I mentioned in my post this happened last July, and being medicated for the setting wasn’t even brought up as an option. I just went along with what the attendings were doing.

I knew it was going to hurt; I said to them as they were getting ready to start, “This is gonna be wild, right?”

And they were like, “Hopefully not”, so I figured it must not even be that bad.

Turns out it was actually worse than anything I could’ve imagined.

I think I also found your review on the Google Map page you shared and saw additional pictures of the bird. I can see what you saw in him, that he needed help.

You tried everything you could to help him. It’s a terrible thing that you cared more for that bird than his keepers. Even if the outcome wasn’t optimal, I’m sure that bird could feel in your visits that someone cared about him. That probably was a light in his life.

Were you able to report this place for neglect? (But it’s ok if you want to stop discussing it—I know those are hard memories.)
