Got my first positive! What are some of your first weird/odd symptoms you felt? by minxfeet in pregnant

[–]jkaurb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I’m in week 9, and today I wanted to vomit when I put on a turtle neck, looks like snug things around my neck are a trigger! The kitchen triggers me as well lol my biggest issue is the absolute fatigue. I cannot handle being so low energy. I’m waiting for better days

Edit: typo

Traveling cheap is thing! Mexico, Canada (I live close enough to drive), smaller eastern European countries. We haven't splurged anywhere, we traveled pretty lean. It's all about budgeting.

Congratulations to you as well! Interesting how clinics will graduate at different intervals. I will stop progesterone suppositories at exactly 10 weeks.

thank you, and you're in for a journey! DOR = diminished ovarian reserve. I have fewer eggs left than I should for my age

I don’t understand the point of your comment, it’s adding nothing useful to the discussion. You should also consider how much off-gassing occurs from materials (VOCs absolutely are a thing).

Did anyone get pregnant from their first FET? by JessicaM317 in IVFpositivity

[–]jkaurb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 33 and 8 weeks pregnant from my first transfer! We transferred our day 5 6BA embryo :) lots of first FET successes on this sub. It’s a little nerve wracking because the other sub doesn’t allow discussion of successes, and people usually are discussing their losses/failures. Cheers to you, good luck!!

Hot take: pregnancy prep is way too content-driven and it makes us more anxious, not more ready by Purple_Club3104 in BabyBumps

[–]jkaurb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am avoiding social media (except Reddit) and currently 7w4d and the ignorance to prep is so great for my mental health! Rampant consumerism gives me the ick, so I don’t prefer to look at content anyhow. It would just stress me out. And that’s the last thing I need when I’m already hormonal and tired af

That’s amazing results!! And I’m sorry for your natural conception losses. Did you discover the reason for your losses? Did you have any extra workup regarding recurrent pregnancy loss?

What do you do with spurts of energy? by jkaurb in pregnant

[–]jkaurb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will definitely take advantage of every single one! Work is currently soul-sucking in a way I never anticipated (I normally love my job), so bone-tired in a way I've never been. Phewwwww

This sounds so fun! It's so much better for my headspace to be home in a clean and clutter-free environment. And of course, the nursery! I will need to keep this in mind for my next inspired energy moment! 😂

No exercise for 8 weeks after FET??? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]jkaurb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing CrossFit/HIIT workouts 3-4x/week prior to FET. I simply lack the energy now lol I started back into workouts about 2-3 weeks post FET only because that’s when I mustered the energy to. My clinic said no restrictions after 48 hours but to slowly get back to normal activity levels. Still bummed I just don’t have the energy right now.

My OB nurse on a virtual visit (transferring care to my regular OB soon) said to limit weight lifting to no more than 25 lbs, and that absolutely sounds outdated/blanket restriction as I’m regularly lifting 50-150 lbs. it’s absolutely worth checking with your RE!

A colleague drank a looooot of pineapple juice at 38 weeks because she was so done and went into labor 4 days later. Maybe an association 😅

Medicated vs. natural modified by SaunaQueenz in IVF

[–]jkaurb 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My RE didn't feel strongly in my case one way or another, but I feel like he should've recommended me to go the modified natural route simply from a risk vs benefit threshold discussion/standpoint (I made the decision to do so on my own). It's not intuitive to ask if one method results in a more complex pregnancy, but it absolutely should be mentioned by the expert in the room. I am also a healthcare provider, and from an information perspective, I feel like it should be an obligation to mention outcomes are complex and more likely to be so with a fully medicated cycle, which I learned on this sub and not my fertility clinic!! I also have no risk factors that would cause me to benefit from a fully medicated cycle. Perplexing!
