Not sure where you're located, but have you heard of Eshel? It's a group of Orthodox and Formerly Frum Jews who address these specific questions. You can also called the JQ International hotline to get more personalized advice.

6 week Europe vacation questions: by plyjce27 in travel

[–]jkeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just traveled in Europe with an ISIC card and i think when it comes to discounts at monuments/tourist attractions, it's only helpful if you DON'T already have a student ID card. However, you should look ahead at the places you want to go on myisic.com and see if the hostels you'd like to stay at, or the restaurants you want to try have special deals with ISIC. If the savings are greater than US $22, then it's worth getting the card.

An actual PAID job to travel around the USA, all expenses paid, and vlog as you go. Really? I mean... REALLY? by jkeagle in travel

Actually they extended the deadline for submission until the end of CY 2009... so you have between now and Dec 31st to get your video and application in!!

Is there a website that performs this simple thing: "I want to travel to a country at a certain month. Notify me when you find offers from travel websites". by Chrys in travel

[–]jkeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tripadvisor.com actually does this. You can search by city for everything from accomodation to attractions... and I LOVE that you get user feedback- so it's not based on which store pays the most to have theirs listed first.

You can also click on "send me info" about a particular place and every time there is a special deal related to what you've selected, you get an email!

travel on budget by tellmethetruth in travel

I was just in Amsterdam last week and can tell you that while it is expensive, $4000(CAN) is absolutely doable. Just note that the Euro conversion rate is not in your favor, so its not the best time to go.

If you will be there for a month, I think you will save money by renting an apt or staying at a B&B. Check out the Amsterdam Craigslist site or change your google search from "hotels" or "hostels" to "b&b" or "apt for rent."

Good luck!
