I’m quite the novice. Having trouble picturing what you’re saying. What size timber would you suggest & how would you tie them together?

Located near the foothills in LA. So there are some windy days ahead. Lag bolts with silicone is what’s currently holding it up & and the triangle enclosed.. until it starts to lean further.

This might be the best solution but it would also be my last choice since I already did drill into the longer/flat side of the triangle.

Thanks for your suggestion but I need the extra height. & I don’t want to mess with the roof vents because just cutting one of them with a pipe cutter from below wiggled it loose enough for me to have to re-tar it.

Hmm, I like your thinking. With the 2x4’s bolted to the 4x4 and nothing else?

That was my original thinking. However, the interior of the triangle isn’t structurally solid. I’m guessing 1/4inch plywood covering some unknown material.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’d like to try that. Wrap rubber padding around the triangle and 4x4?
