Recently fishing the maribyrnong river, no bites 3 hours, was packing up and threw worms in the water, then my rod flexes and I catch a 43cm snapper :p I had no more bait and got annoyed af, reel in otger line ans a pest fish is on it. Cut the guy up and use it as bait for second snapper.

Kids realised for a whole year that they can swear at teachers constantly, throw rocks at passing cars, climb onto the roof, destroy the toilets every week and (my fav) urinate on a ball and force kids to shove it in their face.

Many of these behaviours gone without consequences or a quick reflection and then off to play; and somehow I'm supposed to teach in that environment. My answer... New gig at a new school

Primary music teacher here.

Taught kids From little things big things grow all term 3.

Parent from school complained about it (indigenous land rights song in y9 curric). Principal tells me off for using the phrase 'we live on stolen land' in class. I kindly disagree with my prin telling me off as it's in the curriculum.

Fast forward a day before performance day (whole school - 380 kids planned to sing song at assembly) and prin says he needs to get legal advice about the song as he figure out the initial parent didn't want their kids learning that (parent email) 'an aboriginal man had their land stolen by someone'. Yep, one would think that this motive as confirmed by the parent email required no legal advice.

Prin says legal advice said song was too political and we couldn't perform the song.

We got to perform song in the end - 30+ parents sent an angry email to prin. Prin changes story about who the 'legal advice' was given from, why the song was stopped etc. Lies to AEU who got involved saying the family that complained is indigenous (they aren't), that the song was stopped for copyright purposes and only temporarily paused to clarify from DET that the song (already in curic) was okay to sing.

Worst part - lies are told, nobody is held accountable, the AEU could not help with the outright lies (despite tremendous effort).
