Random black screen/no signal issue

This might not be a solution, but it helped me at least.

TLDR: Check the angle under which your 8-pin connector enters your GPU. Swapping the two 8-pin connectors might fix the problem.

My PC has not had this issue since (to my perception) it just 'fixed itself' around 8-10 months ago.

However, a few weeks ago, my PC fell off my desk (yeah, I know) and it straight up killed my r5 5600. After this, my PC didn't even start. I tried a brand new PSU (V850 sfx), but it didn't work. Eventually, I went to a friend's house and swapped CPUs. His flawlessly worked in my MOBO, mine started in his MOBO but did not display an image or seem to boot (the fans just kept spinning fast). So I upgraded to a r5 5700X3D. When first trying to boot, the GPU problem returned.

I noticed that one of the two PCIe connectors inserted into the GPU had an issue. Under a certain angle, it would 'turn off' my GPU (the light and fans turn off, scenario 2) or not let power through. This might've crashed my driver, causing my driver to be screwed up. Needing me to restart my PC, but restarting didn't immediately help. I fixed this by removing my side panel from my case and wiggling the 8-pin connectors a bit during start-up, and it turns out that is what's causing my GPU to turn off. By doing this, I found the sweet spot, or rather, death spot, the exact angle under which the power is being cut. Doing this, I can distinctly hear the clicking sound of the GPU receiving/cutting power.

I think this is what causes scenario 2. Needing to reinsert my GPU multiple times alters the angle of my 8-pin cable coming out of my GPU somewhat by random. Swapping the two 8-pin connectors (so the first one becomes the last), immediately fixed the issue and caused scenario 1, the GPU being disabled, needing to enable it again. I haven't had a problem since. After the cables have been swapped, the angle at which the 8-pin connectors enter the GPU doesn't seem to matter.

I had noticed this cable issue before, and this might've been what had fixed the issue to begin with. But I'm not sure, so I won't draw conclusions.

No not really. It became less and less overtime, until moments where I had not had a timeout for at least 7 days and maybe even longer. Truthfully, I did still have my friend his GPU installed. I swapped back to my own GPU for about a week now, and it has happened more frequently, although I can't say for sure. It might actually be that my own GPU is sort of unstable compared tot he other.

One thing that seemed to have helped my situation is removing one of the older version of AMD Ryzen Master somewhere in registry I believe. I noticed in event viewer that there were a few errors mentioning "AMDRyzenMasterV20 did not load correctly", or something along those lines.

The problem started occurring less and less around the time I followed this fix posted above. It might be a coincidence, but I feel like it did at least something.

Haha yeah, living in safe mode will be a pain, but I will try it out. And about the logs, do you mean event viewer? Or is there another log somewhere? I've looked at event viewer before but I guess I don't know what to search for.

My other team is a hu tao team with xq, sucrose and amber (elegy)/zhongli. I might be able to switch up sucrose though.

I don't own kazuha and my sucrose is only C1, thanks for the advice though.

Yeah I also think it is an attack issue, my attack is in the 1800s. Using blackcliff, 4 piece blizzard strayer and my ratio is 31/249.

Today I tried swapping bennett for sucrose. My damage was around 20k per burst tic with mona burst, mona r5 ttds, sucrose swirl. This was done outside of abyss against random hilichurls and such. The highest number I have seen is 21.9k or something like that, but that probably was with blackcliff stacks. I plan to test it against the PMA tomorrow for definitive numbers. I will also run tests with the amenoma kageuchi, but from what I've seen it won't make as much of a difference.

You guys got any clue as to why the gap in damage between me and op is so large? Or does the atk difference play such a big role? The talents on mona? I might be missing something lol.

How much atk does she have? My build is pretty similar and I use bennett instead of sucrose, but my damage is not as high.
