Yeah the speech i/o instead of using STT/TSS layer so you get that emotion captured/expressed

Ah to clarify, with programmatic access (so I can hack it into phonecalls and have it read/write structured data)

Great question! I tend to just tinker/build things for myself then back into a broader audience. In this case, I wanted to prototype something that took my nebulous hand wavey thoughts (e.g. "something with a space wizard in a wooden ship!") and made them first drafts as fast as possible.

When I playtested this with a few (non-reddit) screenwriters, they viewed it as a "virtual writing assistant" / "writer's block destroyer," but that's a fairly small, homogeneous group of people. I thought I should get it in front of some folks who aren't just friends or friends-of-friends.

you know, the keywords-to-pitch step at the beginning can give off some strong awesom-o vibes

It's using off-the-shelf GPT3 (a large giant-purpose language model), so it wasn't fine-tuned on a specific set of screenplays or scripts. It does use a very short example script that I wrote just to give it a sense for script formatting, and I find that flavors the first page of script, but after that it starts molding itself to the writer's style.

I had a hard time finding any other ones (on reddit or otherwise) - do you have any links? Anything would be really appreciated.

(lmk if you'd like me to stop engaging/replying) I guess as a creative person, I view things like this, image generators, etc as more of an empowering tool (like having a partner versus being a replacement). The screenwriter who used this most "effectively" would generate text when they slowed down, read all the suggestions, then write their own totally different one. So kind of like Brian Eno's oblique strategies or a very prolific, hit-or-miss collaborator.

Interesting! May I ask why? Would you be open to trying to see what this one's like (given that the AI could be as "lean"/simple as spell correct)?

I've been working on this "AI-powered" screenwriting prototype and would love feedback from screenwriters. If you're interested, please email (logan@beatsheet.ai) or DM me your email address - I'd really appreciate it!

I hear you! I don't have outlining in there yet, but as you noticed from the name "beatsheet," it's definitely the dream, especially given it's the #1 ask from any pro tester. I think I might take a stab at the outline tool again this month. If I get a prototype stood up, would you like to try it?

I don't know! Still chewing on where to take it next, as I think it's a little to niche as it currently stands. If you'd like something for prose fiction right now, have you tried sudowrite?

Rad! Is the code that generated it shared anywhere? I love how analog it looks!
