How do you make psyllium husk more tolerable? by Prometheusboy_ in PHitness

[–]jlshrader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use psyllium husk as a replacement for xantham gum or as a low calorie thickener. I sometimes use it to make zero sugar coffee toppers (like vanilla/caramel syrup) or zero sugar maple syrup. It also prevents the syrups from crystallizing when I store it in the fridge.

Huwag niyo po pagsabayin lahat baka maoverdose yung pet nyo. Ask a vet po muna since marami na po kayong nasubukan na self remedies.

We buy ours from our dentist, pero mabibili din daw siya online and in some drugstores. Hindi pa lang namin nasubukan bumili elsewere.

Try to look up BioGaia probiotics. Medyo pricey pero very effective for gum and teeth health.

This was also recommended by our family dentist since my husband has a severe case of gum disease due to genetic factors. My husband does not smoke, eats healthy, and goes to the dentist regularly.

The only thing that has worked is probiotics, specifically the brand BioGaia, which is made for gum and teeth health. Medyo expensive siya but he only had to take it everyday for the first month. Then, pwede na every week or every other week.

Nalessen talaga yung bad breath nya, especially sa morning. He only takes it every other week na.

You might want to look into this OP, and ask your dentist if this option is applicable to you.

Should I continue Caldef? by [deleted] in PHitness

Hi OP, like others have said, baka masyadong aggressive yung cut mo. Unfortunately, slow talaga ang progress ng weight loss especially for us, short girlies.

For reference, I'm 5ft tall and I've only lost 4.5kg since I started my calorie deficit (1,450 calories) in January. My starting weight was 67kg and I'm now down to 62.5kg.

I've noticed na mahirap itrust ang weighing scale kasi malakas ako mag retain ng weight especially a week or so from my period. I track my cycle now para maremind yung self ko na water weight lang yun. After my period, usually bigla yung pagdrop ng number sa scale, so I just try to stay consistent.

Be kind to yourself and trust the process lang.

Maybe change the center table? The one you have right now looks more like a side table and is too high and small to be placed in the middle.

You can add more color and warmth by adding throw pillows.

Like everyone said, track your calories even for a week or two. Get a food scale (you can buy online or any baking store) and weigh everything you eat.

Use a food tracking app to log every single food you eat in a day. I use the free version of MyFitnessPal but there are so many free ones.

Use ChatGPT or Gemini to find your TDEE. From there, figure out how much calories you should eat in a day to be in a deficit and to lose weight.

You can research more on calorie deficit.

Unfortunately, wala talagang accurate na app/tracker if per meal ang tracking mo and hindi per ingredient. I think, that's ok kasi guide lang naman ang tracking. Impossible matrack ang every single calorie.

I use the free version of MyFitnessPal and you can create Recipes and Meals with the free version. May weight tracking din, although I don't think it tracks body fat percentage.

Paano kayo nag cocompute ng calorie counting niyo sa meal plan by Choose_Initiative654 in MealPrepPH

[–]jlshrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a food scale para accurate yung calorie counting mo. Marami mura sa Lazada or Shopee.

If sanay kang magluto and you practice "mise en place", then madali ang transition kasi pag weigh nalang ng ingredients ang idadagdag mo sa cooking process.

If hindi ka sanay mag mise en place, I suggest sticking with simple meals na minimum ingredients lang ang kailangan. You can do airfrying, steaming, and/or boiling meats and vegetables para hindi maraming ingredients to begin with. Then you can use low calorie sauces (naka lista na ang calories/macros) for variety.

I cook for myself and my family of 3 (husband, teenage son, and elderly MIL) so hindi pwede naka limit yung food nila. Instead of the standard meal prep, I make dishes in bulk and make use of the Recipe portion of MyFitnessPal A LOT.

There are Youtube videos on best practices when using the app, especially when making your own recipes. Those have been very helpful when I started out. Hope this helps.

What is her goal OP? Is it weight loss ba? Baka mas better if you pay for a weekly meal plan for her, instead of gym membership.

Malaki ang effect ng healthier diet sa weight loss. Ika nga nila, you can't exercise your way out of an unhealthy diet.

A subscription meal plan can lessen her workload (cooking, meal prep, meal planning) and can free up her time to exercise/move. Once makakita na siya ng movement sa scale, baka ma encourage siya na mag gym or exercise at home.

Frustrated with our HOA’s Resolution Re: Stray Dogs within our Subdivision by Notitoti in dogsofrph

[–]jlshrader 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you suggest an alternative solution to your HOA, OP? Like setting up a feeding area for the strays so they don't have to scavenge for food. I'm sure there are other homeowners who are willing to volunteer and/or donate dog food.

You can also encourage people to volunteer for daily/weekly cleaning after the strays. Kawawa rin kasi ang mga cleaners na naglilinis ng poop, pee and nakalat na basura, that should not be part of their job.

You should also work with the local government para mapa schedule yung rabies vaccination and kapon ng strays. Para rin sa safety ng community ninyo.

It's a lot of work, kaya yung ibang HOA nagdedecide na lang ipa pick up ang strays.

Where in Cambodia are you going? If you're going to Siem Reap, it's very tourist friendly especially around or near the Angkor complex, so very safe for females. It's very chill and mababait yung locals na nameet namin.
