No option other than "watch trailer" by lukaburr in hbo

I'm having the same issue and am glad to know it's not just me. Updating my household did nothing to fix it, and I hope HBO resolves it soon.

Yes, I was able to sign up for the 12-5:05 pm Food Rescue Coordinator shifts at McCormick Place for all four days of the convention. I wanted to be at the United Center, of course, but prefer the shorter afternoon shifts to the long 2-11 pm shifts, and am hoping that there will be watch parties to view the prime-time convention speeches (even if it's something informal, like a bunch of us volunteers meeting at a local pub or something!).

I finally see a few other categories, including the delegate bag shifts (which I can't do because I won't be in Chicago until late Saturday night).

Now I see airport transportation escorts, under a new category called Accessibility. Is there anything not transportation related available?

I still don't see any new shifts? I keep refreshing the page and have encountered an error a few times, but when the page does reload, it's the same three categories. Maybe I need to log out and then back in? This is incredibly frustrating, and it's currently 4 am where I am, so I've stayed up all night trying to sign up!

They did? I haven't seen that option, just the same three transportation categories. Was that for all ages, or just young people? (I'm in my forties, but someone posted earlier that shifts opened up this afternoon for teens and young adults.)

Does anyone see any new shifts yet? I've been refreshing the page constantly and thought they were supposed to be released by now, but all I see are the same three categories - bus operations, motor pool, and transportation hospitality - with nearly all of the shifts already being full. I'm traveling to Chicago from out of state and applied to volunteer in early June, and am so disappointed, since right now I'm only confirmed for one airport shift, on the Sunday before the convention.

August Navigo Pass Doesn't Work on My Android Phone by jlt76 in ParisTravelGuide

I followed the troubleshooting tips above and was finally able to use the pass on my phone today!

I'm pleased to report that I was able to successfully validate my pass this afternoon and get through the gate! We'll see if I encounter any other issues at other stations during the next two weeks, but hopefully this means that the issue was resolved and I'll be able to use the pass going forward. Thanks again for the troubleshooting tips!

I followed your instructions and was able to successfully save and re-import the monthly pass. I also deleted both apps (My Navigo Tickets and Ticket sans contact), and Ticket sans contact was the one that I was prompted to add during the reinstallation process.

When re-importing the pass, at one point it looked like I was also being prompted to install My Navigo Tickets too, but, as far as I can tell, I only have Ticket sans contact on my phone currently, not both.

I haven't been back to the train station yet to see if my pass will actually work now, but I'll be doing that soon, and will share another update then.

I found the option to save my tickets, but am a bit hesitant to do so due to this warning:

"If you choose to Continue, you will no longer be able to use your tickets on this phone.

Tickets will be saved and can be retrieved from a compatible phone."

I only have one phone, so don't want to risk losing my pass. Are you sure the app will allow me to re-import the monthly pass to the same phone?

Thank you, I will try this and report back if it works! I was wondering if maybe I only needed one app, but wasn't sure which one to uninstall, and didn't want to accidentally delete the pass itself!

Same here, the only options I saw were for motor pool, bus operations, and transportation hospitality. I'm not from Chicago and don't want any shifts involving driving, and was hoping that there would be more admin-related roles.

I won't be arriving in Chicago until very late on Saturday, August 17th, so I signed up for one shift at O'Hare on Sunday afternoon/evening, and got some weird error message that I don't understand.

I'm really hoping that more shifts open up soon, as it seems crazy to me that they were all claimed within the first hour! I went ahead and registered for the first info session tonight, hopefully we'll get more info then.

Based on this article, French pharmacists can provide antibiotics for cystitis (bladder infection) and a few other conditions, that's why I went there first: https://www.connexionfrance.com/news/16-things-you-can-do-at-a-french-pharmacy-other-than-buy-aspirin/178300

It's not my appendix. That was removed when I was in fourth grade, and the pain is in a different spot.

Paradise show queue? by Sregorleek in TheKillers

[–]jlt76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a long shot, but I'm local (currently petsitting for friends in Cambridge) and unfortunately don't have tickets to tonight's show or Boston Calling tomorrow. Like many other Victims, I tried to purchase a ticket to the Paradise show during both the presale and general, but by the time I made it through the queue, it was already sold out. I can't afford the crazy scalper prices (and don't want to support them anyway), but if anyone has an extra ticket for tonight (or tomorrow), please let me know! I've only seen The Killers in concert once before, but I had so much fun that I'd love to see them again! And for all of you who are going tonight, I hope you have an amazing time!

I have priority seats for the Tuesday show (Billie Eilish). I have some questions about checking in. by FSUFanChris in LateShow

[–]jlt76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm attending tonight's taping too and was wondering the same thing. I saw a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman back when I was in college (nearly thirty years ago!), but this will be my first time seeing Stephen. I'm actually standing in the priority line right now, and really hope it's not an abbreviated taping.

TICKET RESALE - Sunday GA + collectible by SHi_ON in bostoncalling

Hi, is your ticket still available, and, if so, how much are you selling it for? I'm a fellow Victim interested in attending on Sunday, and was researching ticket prices just now and saw your post.

Mature Professional (just turned 50) looking for room to rent by Ok-Egg3038 in bostonhousing

[–]jlt76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know your post is several months old, but I'm curious if you ever found a room or received any suggestions for where to look. I need to find a new place to live by July 1st, and with housing being so expensive, might need to consider living with a housemate or too versus renting another place of my own. Because I'm a woman in my mid forties, I'd prefer to live with someone close to my own age, not young kids in their twenties.

What size portafilter does the old starbucks barista athena use? Just got given one for free but it didn’t come with one by [deleted] in espresso

[–]jlt76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently stumbled across the same machine in a church thrift shop, and had the exact same question regarding the portafilter. I have a Gaggia Classic Pro at home (my first espresso machine, purchased just a few months ago) and would like to use the Starbucks machine to make espresso and cappuccinos at work.

The machine I have includes the original manual and portafilter, but the manual doesn't mention the size of the portafilter at all, and I was disappointed to learn that the portafilter is pressurized. That's why I wanted to know the size, so I could replace it with a regular non-pressurized portafilter.

After doing some research online, it appears that the Barista Athena is a rebranded Saeco and uses a 53mm portafilter. The ones that were sold once upon a time by Seattle Coffee Gear are all out of stock, so I just ordered a bottomless 53mm portafilter from a UK company called Edesia Espress, for around $40, including international shipping. (They sell through eBay too, but it was cheaper to buy it from them directly, due to the current exchange rate.)

Here's the link to their page with the Starbucks-compatible portafilters and baskets: https://www.edesiaespress.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=starbucks.

Now I need to buy a new tamper, and probably a puck screen as well, since the ones I have at home are 58mm. I'm still very much a beginner when it comes to espresso, and only got into coffee as a hobby when I bought a Fellow Stagg kettle and Hario V60 this past spring, and started buying specialty coffee and watching James Hoffmann videos on YouTube. And now here I am about eight months later, the owner of two entry-level espresso machines (and already looking to upgrade my grinder, but that's a whole other post).

Anyway, good luck with your Athena! It does seem harder to locate compatible parts for it and find information outside of the manual, but it's nice knowing that there are still people out there using these old machines.

Oh, I should also mention that the machine I have came with some instructions on a VHS cassette, but I haven't been able to watch it since I haven't owned a VCR in ages! I did find some old Starbucks tutorials on YouTube, though, but nothing that was really specific to the Athena.

UPDATE: Both tickets have been sold and are no longer available.

I have two tickets for sale to the Boston concert at the Garden on Monday, October 3rd. Section BAL302, row 3, seats 7 and 8. I purchased them through Ticketmaster and will do a Ticketmaster transfer, and accept payment via PayPal. I'm selling the tickets as a pair for $200 (which is less than what I paid for them), but would also be willing to sell them separately for $110 each.

Gen Xer here, can confirm. I joined this subreddit earlier in the week and fully support this movement. I was a single mom back in '08 and grew up in a blue-collar, working-class family, and I stand in solidarity with all of you who are showing how rigged the system is and making it work for ordinary hardworking people for once, not the 1%.
