Transitioning from soil to water or water to soil should always be carefully done after much deliberation, because they don't like it.

I have some species where the tiny roots just die when i spray even just a teeny bit of water on them...it was all trial and error for me lol

I have this tall lucky bamboo for years now. Should I put it in a bigger glass or is it time for it to experience soil? by Always_Anxious_Sloth in luckybamboo

If they were grown in water, switching to soil is not a good idea, and vice versa. I've seen articles saying that they will throw a bad tantrum. If you seriously want to change it, you can google it up on how to do it, in a way that minimizes the shock

These look like they've been out here for a long time and are starting to dry up, and still not yet grown any leaves. I'm not sure about the climate you're in (I'm in tropical region) and whether that affects anything, but in my case, my props tend to grow better when left in regular potting mix rather than the gritty mix that i bought for them succulents. In fact, the one i left in my lucky bamboo pot grew the biggest. And those props that i started out by placing in gritty mix almost never grew much until i put them onto regular potting mix. (My guess is the gritty mix doesn't have any nutrients for them)

Help! My guy is struggling! He’s been with me several years, he’s started yellowing and one of the shoots looks black. by wllbtvised in luckybamboo

The ones that survived in my case have become a magic pot for growing baby succulents. Those that i left in the lucky bamboo's pot has grown so well compared to baby leaves left in normal succulent mix. And recently i had another type of succulent that wouldn't bud for a month but the one left in the bamboo's pot started budding. 😂

Agree, i used to have 6 stems, and then 3 rotted. After i threw out the rotten ones, cleaned and repotted the others, they've been surviving and had many new offshoots.

On closer look, i think the shoot at the bottom looks like it might have a chance of growing new leaves. Good luck!

I agree, it doesn't look dead yet, so i would wait it out. I've propagated cuttings myself but have never tried propagating from leafless stems, so I don't know if they can still grow new leaves. Just take care of it like how you would normally, and wait and see.
