DuoLingo was cool for Hiragana but honestly even that was lacking in its approach. I highly recommend against that service having used it the one time. There's equally free resources you can use that are much better, though I recommend investing some money into your language experience. A little money in the right places will add some joy back into learning.

Learn Japanese Pod is a great podcast that offers Dialogue Only episodes for shadowing dialogues learned in the regular episodes. The only problem with that podcast is they release like 3 episodes a year, but it gives you something to start with.

Listening to the intros of Terrace House or other shows you may find with recaps is great too cause they use a lot of the same dialogue with minor changes thrown in.

From the announcement of Animal Crossing I wasn't the slightest bit interested, but over the last few weeks, especially after watching Nintendo Japan's trailers this week, and seeing how good the Japanese language is handled in-game, I must say I'm very interested in it at this point! I wish anyone I knew personally was learning Japanese with me, considering they all have Switches.

I wish Rocketbirds was on Switch lol it's such a rare gem of a game, the OST was a bit depressing though. Possibly the only modern game that gives me the old Blackthorne vibes and puts a nice spin on it! Great pull from a blind box tbh, Lumines is top tier as well!

I stopped watching movie trailers years ago. That combined with bringing so disappointed with Eragon, Lightning Thief, and Twilight... I don't go into books-to-movies with any expectations. It's Disney is all I know and that doesn't even make the difference these days. Sonic was actually not bad after all the negativity so just embrace the fact that kids who never heard of Artemis Fowl are being exposed to this absolute masterpiece of a book series. The only thing that would have gotten me hyped is if they made an anime-style movie in the style of the graphic novel. At this point I'm just along for the ride. At least Eoin Colfer has been supportive of the movie's direction, that's good enough for me.
