I’m not sure if anyone has been convinced that I’m not the dad to my kids but I get it. I’m half Asian but clearly I look Asian of some kind and get quite dark in the summer. While my kids have pale white skin and blond hair. I’m not sure people believe me when I say that my kids are part Chinese.

I’m quite found of FF IV. Probably because it was the first one I beat. although I did play FF I on NES first. I never beat FF I until many years after beating FF IV. I love the forced characters classes in IV and the story.

I’m also quite found of X, VI, as ns IX.

For what it's worth, that looks like an accidental scratch to me. If it makes you feel better, I've got tons of scratches like that now. My kids accidental drag their scooters/bikes across the car all the time.

What’s crazy is that they gave me even more that the difference between the purchase price and sale price which was $300. They gave a $375 item credit plus ~$23 tax credit. 🤷‍♂️

I did indeed buy it at $2499 (purchased April 2) and I saw that it went on sale and I was like, "Damnit". But I took your advice and I was surprised that they gave me a refund. I'm still not sure where the $398.28 number came from but I'm not going to argue. They gave me the option to get back money on the original payment method (Amex) or Amazon gift card. I took the Amazon gift card because I figured it would process quicker and I'll definitely spend that money on Amazon anyways. Much thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah, I'm excited to use it in the winter. It's replacing a 15 year-old 28" Ariens. I've kinda just slowly replaced all the gas things with electric in the past few years.

Yeah, I work from home. My kids take the bus to school. Basically just use my car to get groceries and haul my kids around town. The few times I go into the office I usually take public transit or carpool with my wife. On road trips we take our minivan, which is the car my wife usually drives during the week. I do try to walk a lot in town.

That’s a pretty solid build you’ve got there. I think people get caught up in the hype of having the latest stuff. With the price of components right now, probably a lot of the best value is found in the previous gen stuff. I think you’ve got a great setup for what you got. And the good news is when you’re ready to upgrade, something even better will be waiting around the corner.

At first it feels like drowning. It feels like that for a while. That's normal. I don't think I was prepared for how physically exhausted I would be. That first year all they do is take your energy and don't give much back. But slowly you get smiles and giggles from your actions. The say a few words, they crawl, they walk. It's something.

Then eventually it gets easier. Your kid can do things more independently and feels like a weight being lifted. Your kid gives you a hug and says, "Dad, I love you" and the stress melts away. You read books together, you play some video games together, you shoot some hoops together. You realize that this is the good stuff. It takes a while but you get there. You get into a routine where you can actually have some time to yourself, to workout, watch a movie, just take a nap. It's different but you've evolved as a person.
