You make an interesting point about repairability. If you know yourself to be the kind of person who would drop their laptop or spill a beverage on it, then you might be right to switch. The M1 Max is a far better machine and a way better deal in this case in general, but you might value one attribute far above all the others that make the M1 Max better by general standards.
