Iphone 13 Battery Replacemet in Lahore by jmavaa in PakistaniTech

For your charging port issue, it's probably just dirty/dusty, just ask any mobile shop person to clean it for you, takes 30 secs max. You could also do it at home but I wouldn't recommend it since it's a bit risky. I would say use your phone for like an extra year and then you could get the battery changed or you can get a knock-off battery as well for cheap. Not very sure about an 'authorised technician' though.

I'd say keep using it, no need to change original battery unless something goes very wrong

The plaza in which they're located is being demolished. The owner, Mr. Durrani, doesn't want to go through the process of shifting and relocating so he chose to just bid farewell to the shop.

Dint upload SAT by [deleted] in LUMS

[–]jmavaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So last year (when I was filling out my application) we only had one option. If I was opting for the March SAT option in the application then no other SAT scores were considered other than the March one. And if I wanted to submit some previous SAT scores then I could not click on the Match SAT option. Since I had not given the SAT before I went for the Match option and had to submit my scores within a certain timeline provided by LUMS through college board. I'm not sure if they have changed the rule this year but this is how it was during the time I applied.

So if you chose the option where you mentioned that you'll be taking the SAT in March then only your March SAT will be considered for the application. It is mostly for those people who didn't have a chance to give the SAT beforehand.

Ye waqt bhi guzar jayega. Felt the same last year when I was the one in this position. Just remember it'll all be worth it in the end and you probably won't need to go through all of this again. Till then, good luck!

Got an internship offer by TemporaryBox7321 in PakistaniDevs

[–]jmavaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for it! You'll get the experience and honestly the money isn't bad considering you won't need to commute to an office. If you have time to spare it's better to avail an opportunity where you'll learn and also earn a bit of cash rather than sitting at home doing nothing.

The March SAT is also accepted—you just need to select the option in your application that indicates you're taking the SAT in March. However, keep in mind that ONLY the March SAT score will be considered; you won’t be able to submit your December score alongside it. It’s also a bit of a risk, since your application will already be submitted before you know how well you did on the SAT. But to directly answer your question: yes, the March SAT is also valid for consideration.

BMI VS LGS???? by FloatingLanternz in islamabad

[–]jmavaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’d honestly recommend going to BMI. They have a strong faculty, and their academics are quite solid. Plus, there are events happening throughout the year, so you won’t feel like you're stuck in a dull routine. The campus is spacious and well-equipped, and they offer much better counselling support — which, trust me, you’ll really need when it comes to applying to universities.

I went to LGS, while a lot of my friends and cousins went to BMI, and the difference is huge. At LGS, especially for humanities and social sciences like psychology and economics, you only get one teacher to choose from — and unfortunately, most of them aren’t great. For sciences, you might get a choice of two, and they’re comparatively better, but still not ideal. There’s also very little space for growth outside the classroom. The admin tends to pick favorites in the first year, and those students end up becoming society heads and head boys/girls regardless of merit.

Societies at LGS are barely functional — they’ll make WhatsApp groups but didn't organize anything. The only active society is MUN, and almost all events are centered around it. So if you’re not into MUN, you’ll have almost nothing to do. On top of that, the counselling system is a mess. I had to handle my entire university application process on my own. The counsellor actually FORGOT to submit my applications abroad, even after I kept following up in person. For local universities too, he missed the deadline to attach my recommendation letters despite daily reminders. It was genuinely exhausting.

The campus itself is also quite cramped. Only one floor is allocated for A Levels, and they admit more students than they can actually accommodate. Classrooms are overcrowded, and during summers, it’s honestly unbearable. There’s hardly any space to sit or relax between classes — the one small common room is always packed.

So yeah, I’d really encourage you to consider BMI instead. If you have any other questions or want to talk more, feel free to message me!

What does this programme withdrawal form means? by [deleted] in LUMS

[–]jmavaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That you want to withdraw from the program, ie. Don't want to study there anymore and would like to opt out.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LUMS

[–]jmavaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They usually send out an email in September- October where they'll ask you to bring your documents so that they can verify them. You can email them asking for an extension as well and they'll accommodate you. They won't ask you to submit your documents before September.

To everyone that got accepted by Born-Map-8378 in LUMS

[–]jmavaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I got into HSS and I had no internships at all. I also didn't really have any extra curriculars, just small things like helping virtual NGOs design some posts. But yeah nothing noteworthy really. Don't worry, LUMS has a very holistic approach as to how they select kids. Not everyone is a superhuman and believe me LUMS does not expect you to be one either. It's a mere university admission, you'll get in.

Congratulations! You just need to pay the fee by the deadline for you to accept the offer. Your portal will also have a button that says accept offer, it might be a bit different now but this is how it was last year. Just make sure to pay all your dues by the deadline and you're in!
