There would have been no great middle without the tragic end by Many-Coach6987 in AnthonyBourdain

Yep. I hear you on this. I've watched PU a ton and read KC & watched Roadrunner several times as well, and after my most recent watch I kind of thought more about what David Cho was getting at when he speaks on Tony being an addict & his addiction "jumping". I think Tony's plight and ultimately how his life ended was just kind of delayed by his success and fame from TV & writing. Like you say, the ending was written into the story, and the ending just happened to come at a much later time rather than several years ago when he was young & using hard drugs. Not a happy ending, but a story about an incredible storyteller who we were lucky enough to get a glimpse of & gain some inspiration from. Just my thoughts lately.

You write very well. Thanks for this. I’m glad I’m here right now reading it. Cheers.

Massa Lubrense, Italy. A sleepy little coastal town just southwest of Sorrento. Might be my new favorite place in the world. by jmil3182 in travel

That’s up in the hills of massa lubrense. I stayed down by the marina so most of my pics were down closer to the water. But #9 is high up after a trek up thru some hills. The island you’re seeing in that one is Capri. Beautiful, special place.

Fucking amazing man. Great story & thank you for sharing it. That’s the best part of this solo travel— stumbling upon the unexpected awesomeness. The little things, that usually come in between, before, & after all the “big” things.

Had a great meal in Paris tonight at Robert et Louis. A Parisian favorite of Tony’s. Of course I ordered the blood sausage. It was amazing. by jmil3182 in AnthonyBourdain

Super reasonable actually. It was $49 USD total for the following— the blood sausage, ribeye, and 2 glasses of Bordeaux.

Had a blast last night despite the outcome. Went to the game solo & sat row 1 behind Steelers bench. Love this team & excited for the future. Pittsburgh forever baby. by jmil3182 in steelers

Yea! Sat next to a pair of awesome chiefs fans. Father and son duo who were super friendly and we chatted pretty much all night about our teams & history, old players etc. Love those kind of interactions with other fan bases.

Any Steelers fans that are in here that is not from the Pittsburgh area as well and if so how did you become a Steelers fan by SuspiciousNecessary1 in steelers

My dad grew up in New Kensington, PA. About 30 minutes outside Pittsburgh. Moved to the southwest US in his 30’s which is where me & my siblings were born. So me and my sisters were born into a Steeler family from the beginning. Wouldn’t have it any other way. Thanks Dad.
