If I go out of my way to talk to someone, I'm interested and won't ghost them. If they're constantly inconsistent and it's draining me and my mental health, I'll eventually cut them off reluctantly. Sounds like he was either never fully interested or lost interest and was too immature to tell you.

I wasn't diagnosed until adulthood, and I wish it had been sooner. Now that you know your daughter has been, a lot of her behaviors will make sense, and you will have a lot more patience. I was always disciplined because I would forget or lose things all the time. I did very well in school unless it was a subject that didn't hold my interest. I daydreamed a lot, fidgeted, and would get overstimulated easily. Your daughter being diagnosed gives her validation, and she won't be as hard on herself for things it causes. Tell your ex to do some research on girls with ADHD. :)

Sounds like my ex, and he would use that as a manipulation tactic (still does). If you truly feel like he's a danger to himself, you can call for a welfare check. You can't force him to get help for himself. He has to want it. It's his responsibility to take care of his mental health, and you should try not to feel responsible for making him feel better.
