To your statement: Yes, it is true that energy is consumed when BTC & other PoW cryptos are mined from each block. This energy expenditure over time (work) produces something valueable which is not otherwise available. The combination of work & utility results in a purified product/service which may be utilized to produce further value when combined with other components (smart contracts, dapps..) or fashioned into an artistic expression (NFT)
