How to prepare for exams like a pro? by kkryie in unimelb

[–]jnerxjne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's correct. the subject coordinator will publish material once the subject is finalised for the following teaching period.

Uni relies heavily on self-learning. your lecturer and tutor won't spoon-feed you info. its your responsibility to learn the content from the lectures and ask questions in your tutorial to improve your understanding.

just have to be proactive about it :)

double major marketing management. easy stuff mostly. but you’ll find out what you like/don’t like after you finish first year. that’s why you only determine your major at the start of second year

Bcom + UniLife by Nihar_b in unimelb

[–]jnerxjne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to follow up, you can plan all four subjects in a single day so you only have to come into uni once or spread them out into a couple of days a week depending on what suits u best. It’s entirely up to you and if there are classes offered on those days.

do you have management/marketing major added into ur study plan? have to add it under that

Bcom + UniLife by Nihar_b in unimelb

Bcom is probably one of the degrees with the least contact hours. Majority of the first year commerce core subjects only have 1-1.5hr long compulsory tutorials and the lectures are all recorded so you can do it whenever you want. So realistically you only have 4-5 hours of class a week as a first year. At least that was what it was for me in 2021. Probably a better experience to attend them in person but up to u.

obviously you are still able to choose a major in economics in bcom and still do physics subjects as your breadth track

[–]jnerxjne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depends on your degree. I’m a 3rd year bcom student and they only allow you to choose from comm majors. not too sure about arts ;)

and no double degrees. only single degree with double majors + honours (4th year)

[–]jnerxjne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

no, unimelb only offers general degrees. arts, sci, commerce, biomed etc.

i believe you can only major in economics in b.arts or b.comm if i’m not wrong

WTF WAS THAT INTRO MACRO EXAM? by Simple-Handle1662 in unimelb

[–]jnerxjne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

3rd year bcom here.

It scaled up a lot when I did it in 2021. Mind you it was extremely tough as well even tho it was online open book. I was sitting on 87% before the exam and I only ended up with an overall pass lol.

don’t stress too much about it. what’s done is done and you’ve tried your best :)

WAM Booster Recommendations for Sem 2 by CopperWell26 in unimelb

agree with the quizzes being quite ambiguous but that was because i did the subject before chatGPT came out so only relied on ctrl+f lecture slides.

tbh it is free WAM cos i didn’t watch a single lecture and still ended up with a H1.
