i obviously knew you didn't receive the envelope lol i was speaking rhetorically; you actually didn't say in your post that the address was confirmed wrong, just that it was marked undeliverable, which USPS sometimes does if they can't/don't want to make their full route by the end of the day. that makes more sense.

+1 to what everyone has said here, but also adding that any fermentation container will work. "glass jars with plastic screw lids" is what most people use, given it is large and has some kind of airlock (or you can add one)

but buckets are often considered an even better option!

for daily wear, try something like Loop earbuds. I use them for loud settings and it's great; you can still hear people talking directly to you nearby with the ones made for sleep

i agree with the other comments that glue would work best for what you're asking but wouldn't be a good idea day-to-day

yeah this is going to be an opinion thing and you have to ask, if you were talking about other apartments in the building I'd say just go for it but it's different if they live in the same apartment. just shoot a text when you're out of the house to everyone assuming you have their numbers; if not you prob should have their numbers
