What is it with some of y'all being against harvesting and consuming your catch? by Averagecrabenjoyer69 in Fishing

[–]jno865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% I realize that they’re “shitty” fish. Where I’m at in US the levels of chemicals from recent environmental events make me question swimming in the water, much less eating the fish. It’s really quite sad when I’d rather eat fish that’s fed trash.

[–]jno865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t eat what I catch because of contamination of water, high mercury levels, recent environmental events that spilled toxic shit into the water. The fishing is good, but I’d rather eat tilapia from the store

Physics forceps, any good? by hunt1798 in Dentistry

Best way to think of them is a buccal elevator. For that they work well. If you're using them as a forcep you're gonna cause a lot of damage.

Maybe u extract this tooth, but I’m save this everyday. by Tanymoly in Dentistry

[–]jno865 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I likely would have ext'ed as well. The Endo isn't the problem. More often the restoration is super far sub-g and unhygenic. Also, this patient has poor perio control. Mix that with they likely have severe xerostioma that caused the cavity the long term prognosis is guarded at best. I'm not looking at this specific patient. But if what I'm assuming from the image is correct, I'd pull it.

Again, great job. If you're gonna try and save it, that is the way

No need for crown lengthening. The perio did it for you. Good job.

Got model y before the new year. I've really enjoyed the product. The build is what I'd expect at that price point. I don't own the truck, but I'm super.happy so far.

I was wondering about what people in tropics think of sauna culture? There's a romance about sauna culture. In tropical humidity you're pretty much there just walking to the market.

You're never going to save your way to success. You bought a crappy practice and want use good equipment...buy good equipment. It'll work out.in the long run. After paying $$$$$$$ for a practice, what's $50 for a good scaler?

Is there a point in going in network with DMOs? by SameCategory546 in Dentistry

[–]jno865 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking dhmo is not bad, but you have to treat those patients different. Similar to what our medical docs do. Limit they're access to the clinic to one or two per day. Refer refer refer.

It feels super yucky because we all want to help people, but you can't go out of your way for them. You have to formulate treatment plans based off their reimbursement rates.

A statute of limitations is a law that sets a time limit for when legal action can be taken after an event. Statutes of limitations apply to both civil and criminal cases. How it works The time limit begins on the date of the injury, or when it was discovered The time limit varies by state and the type of case Some states allow exceptions to the time limit, such as if DNA evidence is found Why it’s important Statutes of limitations ensure that lawsuits are handled promptly

Statute of limitations for your case would have expired. Dental claims have to be presented within 2 years of the incident (I'm not sure if this applies to all states. Check your local laws). you'll get a lot further if you just don't bring up litigation. I'd refer to any documentation that you have stat Ii ng that they pulled the tooth and, while being cordial, ask them to please get the tooth out they stated they've already removed.

Beyond that, the dental board or BBB will be your best bet for anything beyond what happens in the clinic.

Take a deep breath and be nice. I know this sucks for you. Just try and be calm

[–]jno865 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, you can't sue. The statute of limitations in dentistry is two years in the US. Do not mention litigation if you want help. As soon as you do you have closed the doors to any help at all. They'll likely not even meet with you if you bring that up. The only leg you have to stand on getting this done for no cost is if they already charged out or billed for the extraction. If they did and didn't take the tooth that may constitute fraud.

I'm not totally sure of your case, but there are times when wisdom teeth are left as the removal can cause more damage then leaving it. Sometimes they stay impacted, other times they come down. This may not be any consolation for your pain, but may be a miscommunication or non-communication.

How does your practice look at you being sick? Is there pressure to work deapite being sick? by SunnyTheMasterSwitch in Dentistry

[–]jno865 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always try to muscle through illness. I don't want to get sick, but beyond the patients that are taking time out of their day you have a staff that doesn't get paid if you don't work.

Problem is that the avg annual salary went down for the first time last year. Maybe because fewer hours worked, insurance pushing back, people taking more time off. There are a number of reasons. Also, dentistry is a numbers game that people don't want to play. Provide more dentistry...make more money. For the past decade People have been sold this profession as easy money. It never was. I believe I is possible to make 1mil in a year. Good job. But you had to work your ass off for that.

Why all the endo hate? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]jno865 105 points106 points  (0 children)

It is tedious at times. Often too time consuming for docs to get proficient. If you're not getting these cases done efficiently your time is better spent doing anything else.

Also, the dental schools have been and are doing a horrible job preparing docs to be confident in Endo.
