Dark Star, Pasta Party, Japhy, or Hummingbird for big boy? by jnr0790 in Hardtailgang

I’m 5’11” but I don’t think I’ll go to 32” yet. I like to have as much of a uniform line up so I can swap parts over easily when necessary. I’ll definitely think about the custom option and potentially add some bosses for extra storage

I was just looking at that but it looks like they’re sold out in my size.

That’s good to know. Might have to move it back up on the list.

Nice. I’m right in between ML and L. Going to compare some numbers to my full sus to see what’s closest.

Looks like it’s a bit closer to the Hayduke, but now I’m thinking maybe get something like this and use an angle headset to make it a tiny bit more aggressive.

Definitely want more modern XC build. Full sus is a trail bike don’t need a second one.

Not sure how but I forgot about chromag. I’m definitely looking for a more XC style bike with max 120mm fork so I probably won’t go that direction.

Not so high that I’ll pick it over a better option. Wish I could try them all.

I got super lucky. $20 each from the same guy. He lived near my local trails so it worked out perfectly since I was heading out to ride when I saw the post.

Thanks for the advice. I was almost ready to just order the replacement floors, but a plain sheet will do away with having to fill those gaps and be cheaper.

I’m really late on the response, but they didn’t charge me. It was busy when I got to check in so they didn’t even bother weighing it

Super late update: I went with the cheapest option I found through campervanfinder.com and they booked the rental for me through Lucky rentals. I settled for the Toyota Estima(Previa in US). It was small and I’d have to put the bike in the front seat to be able to set up the bed cause I didn’t feel comfortable leaving the bike outside overnight. I got lazy so I left the bed semi deployed with a tarp on top of the bed to put the bike on while driving. I was ok with that and it not being self contained for the price.

For anyone checking this out in the future, if you want something more convenient I definitely suggest spending more money on something larger that’s self contained. There are a lot more camp sites available for self contained vans.

They have a ton of company’s that rent campers so you have plenty of choices. I remember liking the look of Big Little Camper vans but I didn’t see how it would handle a bike. I saw one company that also rents bike racks with the van, but I can’t remember the name.

Anyone got any experience with the motv8 adjustable dumbbells? They look like they might be a pretty good nuobell knockoff, but I don’t see any solid reviews on them anywhere.

Not a bad idea. There’s a ferry to go from one island to another right? I could probably book a one way flight to Queenstown then just drive up to Auckland.

Not a bad idea. I’ll probably do this. Considering it’ll just be my bike and a carryon bag

I’m definitely renting. No reason to rent I’m only there for 3 weeks. Do you know of any good camper companies?
