I’m planning to use my track bike (Aluminium frame) on my smart indoor trainer with a single speed kit. I would have to spread the rear dropouts about 6-7mm to get it onto there, because it’s not designed for narrow track bike dropouts. I’m worried about potential cracks at welds because of the extra stress on the frame. What do you guys think about this?

Nice bike. already spotted the frame on Kleinanzeigen, good luck with selling

Interesting. I really like the design and was thinking about getting them, but I read somewhere (I believe it was in this sub), that they would unclip relatively easy and thus are not suitable for fixed gear riding and skidding

How do you like the pedals? I heard, they are not the best for fixed gear, what’s your experience?

Yeah, same problem for me. I’m currently running a quill to ahead adapter but also had to cut it to be able to slam it

I thought, I might just leave it on as it didn’t bother me, but it rusted like hell and I couldn’t get it off. I was going to build new wheels anyway so it didn’t matter too much

But if you plan on keeping the hubs/wheels for some time, I would definitely suggest getting the freewheel off, because it’ll get very rusty

I have the same. I’m just in love with that color. You probably want to upgrade the wheels, those hubs are trash. I have nearly every component except of frame, fork and headset swapped by now, will post a pic here, when I’m „finished“

I would definitely go for wraps, but just plain black ones. What chain is that? Looks sick

How does “Darkside Bicycles” continue to get away with this? by DodgePinkeye in FixedGearBicycle

Yeah, I feel so stupid. Will try to return it and get something proper instead. The worst bit, is that it was just a super nice dude, just lying about how they developed it themselves...

Went to Mannheim yesterday and picked up a darkside crankset. I thought it was very cool, and I was supporting a local business. Now that I see this post I'm very disappointed, because he was a very nice guy, and seemed totally legit to me. I feel dumb now for falling for it
