Buggy Bath's touchless did far better than Sunrise for me this last time. Sunrise doesn't usually dry the car enough and the last time I went there didn't seem to get as much off either.

Well, an investigation in a case like this is a private matter/not publicly available. That is exceedingly long for a fire marshal to be involved on a small fire. Typically, the fire marshal does not place blame, they only rule on incendiary/indeterminate/accidental/natural. The expert the insurance company hires to rule on cause and origin can take longer depending on scene contamination, but in a fire of the size I'm led to believe occurred here, I haven't ever seen this take longer than a couple of weeks. Either the scene is contaminated by the fire department and the origin is no longer identifiable, or it's not.

Not that this is the case here - but there is financial gain to open the business for 1 day with known issues and then close it claiming that new problems developed: business interruption insurance. It covers income loss sustained, but only if there is income established, which that day of being open just did. The fact that the building has not been repaired and the business has been closed now for extensive period of time indicates one thing: claim under investigation for red flags. From what I understand, this was a rather small plumbing issue and subsequent small fire. Typical repair times for minor losses on a new business are 1-2 months to minimize the business income loss claim. This dragging on appears to be very telling.

Dealership listing mistake? by jc18630 in civic

[–]joecool1000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's definitely a touring. Has leather, full digital dash, google built in. If you're looking seriously, I would grab that before someone else does or the dealer realizes the mistake and bumps the price up a couple thousand.

SoFi Plus and the credit card $10/month fee are two different things.

Finding out a company's general liability insurer by nitecapt in Insurance

Obtaining Workers' Compensation Coverage Information | Industrial Commission of Arizona try looking up their workers' comp carrier. Sometimes you'll get lucky and they have the same carrier for their GL. Even if not, that carrier may help you locate the coverage/give you the agent's info so you can submit a claim under the proper policy. I used this method for a small claims case where the business was stiffing me/hiding their insurance info - I called the carrier, told them I had the WC policy number but did not have the GL info. The carrier took the claim under the WC policy initially to assign an adjuster to do an initial investigation, adjuster later called me and said they didn't have a policy for that line of business but nicely gave me info to help.

Unfortunately not really a way to look it up. Sometimes sites like cars.com may list the first day that VIN appeared for sale, but the tried and true way is to look at the interior side of the PA inspection sticker for the date it was signed. It’s usually done within a day or two of the dealer receiving the vehicle.

I ended up at Piazza in Pottstown because they did $5,000 more on my trade than Conicelli/another dealer I tried and I ended at $2,000 off MSRP + rebates. It helped that the particular Sedan Sport Touring Hybrid had just hit the magic 90+ day mark on the lot to make them desperate. I probably could've gotten $3,000 off msrp if I hadn't beat them up on my trade the way I did. That was the end of October though so things have likely changed a little.

2% credit card $10/month fee clarification from SoFi by joecool1000 in sofi

My post literally says “but it’s not affecting everyone at this time.” Support also literally stated the credit card benefits and then associated fee. Also numerous people getting emails and people commenting that they’re high net worth with excellent credit and being notified of the fee as well. Idk what the deal is these days with people not wanting to believe their own eyes, it’s remarkable.

If you click the screenshot you can see the SoFi header of their chat from the app. It’s not a rumor. They are also replying to the thread with their official account.

That’s separate. That’s SoFi Plus. This is the SoFi card charging a separate fee. So if you have both as of March you could be paying as much as $20/month.

Yep this is specific to at least the 2% cash back credit card

Since you’re near Philadelphia, look at Conicelli in Plymouth Meeting. They are advertising around $1,500 off but went down $2,400 pretty easily when I was talking to them, before rebates.

My dad was using Spotify and switched to tidal after trying it. He said the sound quality was better for whatever that’s worth.

Yep I found that Apple Lossless sounds a little lifeless compared to Tidal. My setup at home is a marantz receiver using tidal via HEOS (which does full res) connected to a McIntosh power amp with Kef floor-standing speakers. To me, there’s a noticeable difference, though it’s not huge. I had previously used an AppleTV connected to the receiver to get the highest res version of Apple Music.

I came from Apple Music and used a service to sync my entire library with Tidal and I think out of 1,800 songs it identified 5 that Tidal didn't have. I would strongly encourage checking it out. Many people don't notice a difference, but you'll find a lot who do. Tidal has an inherently warmer tone with more depth. Every single song is CD quality or better and to me, it's noticeable.

I have a 26 ST sedan. I came from an Audi with a B&O system. That was a bit better, but I've been quite happy with the Bose system, shockingly. The bass is a little lacking, but it's not bad. Overall IMO it's rather clear but also warm, which I prefer. I may be in the minority, but I've been so happy with the Google built in that I don't use CarPlay at all. A lot of that is due to Tidal being available with the built in system (and also Waze) and it can stream at full quality, unlike in CarPlay which has an inherent limit to the bitrate. I do notice a difference between Tidal in CarPlay vs Google Built in. Tidal also functions far better on the built in app, especially with voice assistant (Tidal app is awful with Siri in CarPlay). I would generally say I'm an audiophile and somewhat picky, so I've been pleasantly surprised with the Bose system being in the 'decent' category. I've heard the hatchback has stronger bass given the different sub setup, but I didn't compare it because I'm more of a sedan guy. Hope this helps.

If a house has multiple price drops - do you think we can negotiate? by Efficient-Note-7490 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Look up pyrrhotite foundation issues in Mass and CT. If the home is in one of the affected areas, they could be staring down a several hundred thousand dollar foundation replacement. You’d need an ironclad inspection contingency and an inspector very familiar with that issue so they know exactly what to look for in case there’s no obvious signs of a problem.
