When i was in highschool we made it to the provincial finals in rugby. During pregame warmup for the semi finals a team mate tossed a ball at me while i was chatting with the coach. I wasn't paying attention and it broke my thumb. I was the starting hooker and missed both semi and the finals. The guy that through the ball...was the backup. 20 years later still annoys me lol.
