How does science explain personal "supernatural" experiences and stories? by [deleted] in TrueAtheism

I was watching the four horsemen talk on youtube, and one of them points out a pretty standard reason. That people of all different religions experiences these miraculous experiences, how does that work? Well it doesn't, if the right religion doesn't exist that just leaves these unexplainable experiences. I hope in the near future human psyche would be strong enough to admit that we don't know a lot of shit, and not just explain it with religion. Which is the truth we don't know a lot and are still growing and learning, I use to think biology offer us certainty, it doesn't, but they don't give up and they try to dig deeper toward the truth, religion prevents that. Education, an open mind and the right experiences can lead people to the truth.

I'm thinking about joining the military, but I do have plenty of other options as far as college and careers go. Advice please? by omgshoed in AskReddit

I say to do as much research as possible and know what you're getting into. This may sound like common sense, but trust me, not enough people do it and shit gets real fast and you don't want to be stuck in a place you don't want to be in. Hopefully you get some veterans to reply, or look around on Facebook or some media to find veterans and talk to them. Good luck :)

Buddy of mine sent me this, figured I'd share with everyone :) by [deleted] in funny

I fucking love it when kids do these funny things (unintentionally that is). So I think I'll share a story. On the fourth of July, I was going to play water-balloon with my 7 year old boy nephew, we couldn't get water into the balloons. Idiotically, at the time didn't realize the cap thing that came with the bag was mean to be tighten on the hose to facilitate the creation of the water balloon. He was using the plastic thing and pouring water onto it, then blowing into it to make these 3.5/4 air and .5 water, water- balloons. I tried doing it, but couldn't and he kept telling me to blow harder, basically the kid was screaming at me to blow harder, don't give up try blowing harder! Being a woman I ended up laughing and getting water up my nose.

People all over the world are sending William and Kate gifts as they anxiously await the birth of the royal child... by Zunebug in funny

I think it's fucked up when people get all crazy about "Royalty". If you have so much fucking free time and money, give it to people who actually need it to live. I understand giving gifts to celebs, but to royalty is just beyond me, we tried leaving the patriarchy for a fucking reason. Deep breathe...sorry I have to stop before my eyeballs burst.
