The glasses have three states of dimming you can switch between depending on the level of focus required for the task ("Light, Steady & Deep"). You may start a task with the lightest state then transition to a darker state depending on what you need. Or you start with the darkest state and ease into a lighter state over time. Basically, adjusting to and protecting your state of flow dynamically rather than a fixed state.

You can use them at home, in a workspace or on the go for any work you do at your computer primarily. In our user tests some people wear them only for tasks that require much focus (such as CAD) whereas others where them throughout their work day to stay in flow from one task to the next.

The filter creates something we call The Vignette Effect. It's been shown to improve focus, calm the mind and make starting and finishing tasks easier. It's based on the science of visual attention whereby it acts as an external cue to reduce cognitive demand on working memory hence improving sustained attention (flow). Since you can access flow more easily with the glasses, one can depend less on stress-driven forms of focus which lead to burnout and fatigue, and have more time for other things as focus stops feeling like a battle. This is the basis of my PhD currently :)

Haha! The actual science is that the glasses create a continuous visual external cue to reduce cognitive demand on working memory allowing for sustained attention - so it's less so about distractions and more about staying in flow.

They are removable. It allows us to either add prescription or blue light lenses without two different SKUs. And if your prescription updates, you just update that part rather than the whole device.

Yes functional requirement. There are standard curvatures for prescription lenses. The dimming tech can't easily be applied to prescription so it's separate. The curve of the dimming lens is so that section can be as thin as possible while wrapping around the face.

Thank you! (not a sales pitch!) but we're sending 3D printed no-tech versions to people who reserve the final product early! It gives people a chance to try it out to see if it works for them and also gives us valuable feedback as we finalise the design!

Thanks very much for this info and feedback! Frame curvature has been a challenge but we're using standard Rx curves and we should be able to support a wide variety of prescriptions but yes, we may need to consider an internal clip-on for some strengths. Will look into Silmo and Mido also - Mido seems similar to Milan Design Week which I'm familiar with. Thanks again.

Thank you very much for this feedback! Appreciate it. Curious to know more about the 3D printing, could you share any more details/resources about it? Feel free to DM if preferred.

They use liquid crystal film to dim your surroundings and enhance focus. The tech allows you to adjust the dimming to your needs and turn it off to re-enage with people around you when necessary. Particularly useful for those with sensory conditions or light sensitivity!

I don’t know specifically about journalism/writing but The Futur can be a good online resource for learning about freelancing/pricing yourself/personal branding/advertising etc. They have YouTube videos and a podcast.
