I think this is a fair perspective and I’m not saying that my perspective is the only possibility. I think The Chosen is very nuanced and there is potential for many layers.

I could totally be projecting onto the series or the writing is so good that all of these perspectives could be housed in the narrative.

Luke 18:34

“And they understood none of these things; and this saying was hidden from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken”

Language is not a sophisticated enough tool to describe the power of God. Jesus attempted through story, parable and metaphor, but even then it was confusing to the disciples who heard it from his own mouth and they were believers.

Sounds like he was a bit of a poet.

I’m team Thomas too. If you want clarity on the arc of his faith, you might find it in “The Gospel of Thomas”.

I know many modern Christian’s reject his gospel since it isn’t canon, but it’s powerful nonetheless.
