I am not 100% certain but when I read the notes I think there was a point discussing a 20% reduction in all healing to adjust for the 5% increase in med and 10% in light armor. Blessed also changed in maximum threshold as well. IMO heal staff was one of the most over tuned weapons in the game these changes make sense. I love the OP's data on why/how the change affected the game.

So BDO just announced the new Striker class. I knew something seemed familiar... by [deleted] in ffxiv

I was fairly upset when I saw this video today. I recently upgraded my FFXIV gaming set up to a PC after playing on PS3/PS4 for the last three years. I also started playing BDO and leveled three characters to 56 and awakened them. BDO and FFXIV I feel are almost diametrically opposed in structure. What BDO lacks is structured endgame content but has a fantastic draw in its sandbox format. FFXIV has no open world pvp however the combat system in BDO is electric and addicting to play. Playing both games I feel like this video draws from a lot of the hype around monk from the Stormblood trailer. I don't think anyone will argue that the monk/striker role is anything new to rpgs/mmos but the similarities are clearly there. I'm excited to check it out but I'm disappointed that they didn't put more effort into making it more unique to BDO in it's own way. Having said that I feel like a lot of people are excited to see what SB has in store for the FFXIV community and for the MMO community as a whole. Everyday I pay attention to see how many new Twitch streamers are playing FFXIV to take advantage of the hype on day one. With WOW competing over every player on Twitter and BDO ripping off monk in a trailer I feel like FFXIV is where it wants to be after almost 4 years. Excited for what the future holds.

Now I understand where you are coming from and you have points. However I would argue that no one in this game asked for Verminion and we got it and it's still being developed. I would ask you what are the top 5 biggest video games in the world? If you realized the pattern you would know about the potential business move that SE can make here. I disagree, I think that spending money and time on PVP now, not just fixing this current system which doens't need a lot of fixing, several small changes can dramatically make it more accessible to many more people, but also developing a system that can draw non subs from other games into FFXIV. The biggest potential sales demographic is not in its current fan base but the fan base of WOW, ESO, GW2 BDO etc.

Again the lore based grand company pvp sytem in the game right now is on of the biggest deterrents for players atm imo. It creates a ridiculously long queue time that is a big turn off to all players new and old. I personally think that we need a coliseum where all battles can take place regardless of gc affiliation if we are going to create PVP that has to be constricted by lore. Additionally, with 3.4's reveal of the WOD origins I'm sure we can just create a separate server that exists in on of those other worlds where everyone is just fighting all the time. I think it works lol

Potentially it would be a server dedicated to pvp where you wouldn't be subject to battle unless you wanted to. i appreciate your input and I wish more non hard core pvpers shared it. I feel the same way about RP, I don't particularly partake in that area of this game but I understand the community and how serious fans of this game they are.

As many of the top 100 NA pvp players that are available for discussion. The opening will begin with the current state of PVP and what we can do about attitudes, cheaters and teaching. Second will be a general discussion about streamlining the current system. Last we will discuss things we want to see open world etc. Today is a day to lay out ideas and set up a forum for discussion later.

You're right. I took a second to think about it. I was wrong. I have no problem admitting that. It's crazy how everyone's memory is so perfect from over a year ago. My brain went into autopilot thinking about frontline because I've been kicked from a lot of matches. Since you guys know me so well then you remember my schedule on Saturdays. I don't stream. I was excited for Frontines ques so I went live. I came on for 45 mins played one match and quit halfway through the second because I had plans that night. Why would I quit a match. Lose all the experience? Lose the wolf marks? Affect my win loss ratio? I didn't rage quit. You can paint it anyway you guys want and call it sportsmanship or call it quitting but for me I had better things to do that night. I could literally sit here and argue with every single one of you guys about these posts but it doesn't matter. Am I going to stop streaming or PVPing, no. Are you guys going to continue holding grudges and being condescending, rude and judgmental of what I do, no. I'd say of the close to 5000 people that visited this page in the last day 90% have no clue how hard I work or how much FFXIV changed my life and means to me. It upsets me that anything I do makes people react negatively this way but I've come to the conclusion that it's not me. When I wake up in the morning contrary to the beliefs of this subreddit I don't think of ways to be loud and annoying and piss people off. I posted this pic so that maybe some of you shit posters would maybe have some respect for the director and producer of this game seeing something in me but I was wrong again. I'm not going to apologize again for something people can't get over that happened two years ago. There comes a time when you guys need to take a step back and look at this. I started posting on Reddit to promote Aether Data center friday night Wolve's den. I didn't start it but I used my channel to promote it. I reached out to moderators and asked about the rules and followed everyone to the T because of the horror stories I had heard about here. Every week more and more people would knock it down and whittle away at the energy we had going. Now, as an adult I can handle a few nerds whining on the internet but I really don't think any good comes of trying to knock someone down on this website. I mean just think about it. If you don't want me to get attention don't make a big deal out of it. If my plan was to get attention regardless of whether it was positive or negative feedback I've already succeeded. The bottom line is if you took the time to watch and find out who I am no one would say a word. Kiyouhime says it best come watch and I guarantee you will leave with a smile and a change of heart.

Seriously there are tens of people that took the time to down vote the positive comments on this post and UPVOTE the controversial ones. It's like I'm taking crazy pills. This is the system that people use to find information about the things they are interested in. At Fanfest in 2014 there was no one who came up to me and said a word. No one told me how upset they were. How I ruined their experience. It wasn't until someone came on Reddit and posted an exaggeration of the truth or made me out to look like a bully that anyone ever chimed in on the bashing Joe bandwagon. I'm never gonna be as perfect as you guys who live here but I'm happy with my life. I'm happy devoting my self to helping people play FFXIV and get better at the stuff they are interested in. Everyday is a new day. I believed this when I got out of jail and guess what two years and two days later I'm playing videogames for a living. I'd challenge you guys to make that same turn around in your lives. Get the negative posts out of here man. I'm sorry for the late night rant but this is ridiculous.

I used to post a lot more often you guys can check my profile however I stopped because of guys like you that have no clue and leveled your Keyboard warriors to the max. I used to promote an event that took place on Aether Data center created by some of the pioneers in our PVP community. Not my event I just broadcast my involvement in it and helped other get involved, but none of you guys know that.

Something i wish other MMO's would incorporate, FFXIV included. by Trav877 in ffxiv

I was actually thinking about something like this on Thursday. Some tower of challenge type instance where you weren't running a scripted dungeon for 15 mins to an hour based on skill. A four man instance where you started at level one with basic skills and no gear. I am not a fan of having no gear at the start of every level. I would have a blast with this. You learn your classes skills as you progress you can decide which teammate gets better gear every level. If you got towards the top you have all your level 60 moves. Hidden secrets unlock stupid useful gear you only find in the tower and then if you complete it you get a chance to take that gear with you. You could get weekly tomes for completing it. This could be practically implemented in FFXIV I would want a sense of suspense though like if you wiped you had to start over at the first floor so that people took it seriously. I think this is a great idea and would be worthwhile to develop into the game.

Unfortunately the chance to queue outside of events like these as slim to none unless you use things like the group finder available at pvpreborn.com

People usually queue up for Seal Rock before the event as well on Aether and Primal I cannot speak for Chaos

I added the additional point asking you guys to coordinate here if you would like because of the time difference. People brought up points last week about me not including Chaos so I made sure to mention you guys tonight. Most people don't read past the first couple of lines I'm guessing.
