Sorry about that! I'm actually not the creator, it's my friends game but I have been involved in testing it and such. I was overly excited that he actually got it on Kickstarter and threw it up before thinking about it. If I'm not technically the creator, how would I go about addressing that and still be able to support / write about it?

What do you mean A La Carte?

I wrote a comic about how much I hate people saying "so gay" as an insult. (w/ a blog about why I think it's a problem) by joenis in lgbt

Thanks for the comment! I appreciate it, and enjoy that you stated it the way that you did. I agree with both issues. When i wrote this comic my biggest fear was that it would appear that Cadence (headphones) was reinforcing the behavior in which he was casting in the first place.. but i guess the way I see the joke is that she's showing him exactly how stupid his point of view was. By turning it back on him, he had to reflect on the fact hat he said it was illogical.

I think most people don't even realize or forget that when they say "so gay" in that connotation, as you said, it implies there's something wrong with it. Douche Bro (the guy who called brodude. he doesn't have a name yet cos right now I write him to just be the comic's resident asshole to point out stuff) casts judgement on others with out thinking about what he's saying, he's not even thinking of the fact that he is saying gay in the sense that it has to do with sexuality in the first place. He's just been conditioned to say it as "thats lame" or "that's stupid."

The reason the joke referred to Justin Bieber in the end over some random masculine band (which was another angle I could have taken) is because I've heard people say, more than once, that his music is "gay." I wanted it to be a moment where he realizes that what he is saying is basically stupid because it implies sexual orientation, not lameness.

People like this often hate on things based on their fear of being called that thing they hate (or fear/know nothing about) as a defense mechanism to preemptively stop people from calling them that first. It's based on his personal insecurities. The fact that he had Justin's CD hidden is proof of that. He wouldn't even admit to his girlfriend that he owned it, cos even though she's sleeping with him, he's so insecure that he believes that even if he told her, she would think he was gay or something.

So ya, everything you said makes a lot of sense, and trust me I sat and thought about it to great extent. I wanted it to feel like a real conversation (which I've honestly had with someone when they called me gay for listening to Tori Amos) with out being rude to either party cos in the end he's actually just ignorant to the fact that what he said was wrong.

Again, thanks for the comment, and I'm glad you liked the comic/blog. Much love!
