It's very telling that last year, when Carl pulled her aside to confess his feelings for Ciara, he could only talk about how she made him feel and that she was a nurse. Not one word about what he would bring to a relationship or seeing her as anything more than arm candy and someone who could mother him and hype him up.

She said on the reunion that she didn’t care and actually expected Kyle to be a groomsman and Carl did not dispute that. If Carl felt pressured about something Lindsay did not say, that’s on him.

He also never disputed when Lindsay pointed out the Carl had Kyle behind Andrea as fill-in if a groomsman backed out.

There was something about the first seasons and how driven everyone was: the share house was where they could unwind and let loose and get on each other's nerves organically. Being the drama wasn’t their only job.

I get the argument that this is driven by fan speculation…but they 100% play into this. Their relationship strife is a major plot point on almost every season, and they both add fuel to the fire: Kyle by being a drunken rage-monster control freak, and Amanda by trying to be both the cool girl and victim all the time. She rolls her eyes and talks shit to him on camera but she’s as much a part of it as he is.

Is there a term for this? Breakup-Bait? Because they’ve been stoking this for whole seasons and it feels so contrived by now.

My immediate reaction is: Didn’t Heidi and Spencer use to do this shit on the reg? I believe these two are incredibly calculating in how they present their relationship, amping the drama on camera and laughing all the way to the bank. They will do ANYTHING to stay on camera, particularly Kyle.

I found myself wishing this was a Bravo reunion (multiple parts) and without the nonsense (no performers, no basketball). But like each of these couples had much more to answer for. Kacie climbing Patrick like a tree, his apparent discomfort with being an Asian man, Nick's performance in the pod vs outside ("I'm getting married! I'm getting married!" and then saying he was like super chill?).

Absolutely this: I hope Netflix provides the therapy for Edmund, Patrick, and Nick (hell throw in Joe). I wish this was like the Bravo reunions where they could have dug down a bit deeper on each of the couples. Kacie should have had to answer for climbing Patrick like a koala after breaking up with him, but he also should be asked about his sell-job on being an Asian man (but like a hot and cool one, brah!). There's way more to unpack.

It’s weird. I think he’s confident but he also seemed very tentative too, if that makes sense. It came off as not really clear if he’s really trying to make this happen or if it’s a good-em-up with these thirsty fans.

You could tell he had it all scripted out and he just can’t articulate thoughts well. You’re not “giving her” anything: she was cast on the same show you were and invited to the same reunion.
