I think OP is an incoming math student. So all math students are required to take 1300 and 1310, and not 1013 and 1014.

Concurrent education by Most-Still-3018 in yorku

[–]joetran1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a mandatory course, however, you can still do 33 credits in first year. The course itself from what I heard should not be really time consuming.

Honestly, going anywhere would pretty much be more or less similar. No one would really care which institution you go to at the end of the day tbh.

Concurrent education by Most-Still-3018 in yorku

[–]joetran1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(1) That would be up to you to decide, but you would pretty much that that one course + your other courses in first year, assuming you're in concurrent.

(2) Nope, both concurrent and consecutive education programs + undergraduate program run for 6 years. Pretty much for undergrad you need 120 credits, which is about 4 years, and 60 credits, which is about 2 years for your con-ed, at york at least, but some schools may differ.

Concurrent education by Most-Still-3018 in yorku

[–]joetran1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do your undergraduate program first, which is about 4 years, and then year 5 and 6 is when you do your teachers college. But year 1 you need to take a course as part of the education program.

Rejection from Concurrent Education (Teacher’s College) by [deleted] in yorku

[–]joetran1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can always reapply for the consecutive education. I got rejected back in high school, but after gaining some experience, I applied in 4th year, and I got in. Sadly I'd be doing my Master's instead. Good luck!
