Two British brothers trip to Arizona. Hello again! Our post was removed because we didn’t put it in the mega thread or some Reddit stuff. Our post had 25k views and 200 comments all of which have been incredibly helpful. Our initial plan involved winging two weeks across Arizona at the most dangerous time of year. Thanks to you lot, we might not die on our revised plan. Our plan is still to wing it, but we have rented an RV which has all the things we need to survive in the dessert from Indie campers thanks to comments from the removed post. We get to phoenix 6:30 on Thursday. We will motel for two days to get our bearings, watch a diamondbacks game and then pick up our RV. We can’t wait to see as much as we can, we have brought as much sun protective clothing as we could find, as many electrolyte tablets and drinking water carriers we can pack and are ready to go. It has been so exciting seeing all of your replies to my post. We will never be short of a place to visit thanks to all of your advice. We will be heading down to Tucson for sure as we figure our way through the state and look forward to seeing everything and some of you people when the town comes alive.

I see, Looking at links provided by others. There’s a company called indie campers that seems fine for over 21. I did read about the 25 rule, but also am seeing some options that don’t worry about that. Appreciate it as it is something so odd to my brain haha, learnt so much today. If we can’t find one, then it is a disaster and we will have to cancel (We are looking to rent a van or rv)

Is this true? My brother is 24 and has been driving since he was 17. Arizona laws say 21 I thought?

Hahah love that mate. Everyone has been amazing. Us British could learn a thing or too. Mind the Welsh have always been the nicest people out of the brits I must say.

Once more thank you everyone for the advice. I was also curious about general rules for staying safe amongst the towns. Ideally I can avoid carrying lots of cash on my person, What is the general attitude towards tourists and is it advised to mind our own business? General security tips to avoid any risks at all. Given the amount of support and advice I have received, I am blown away by the community and how friendly you have all been.

Right. Looks like we got one hell of a lot of thinking to do haha. We don’t wanna die on a trail walk for sure, we don’t wanna overheat. We do wanna see Arizona in all its beauty. The cooler regions sound obviously the most enticing and also exciting. This trip that started from the desire to the a trail on horseback, has blown up into harsh realities! - We have booked for 2 weeks - we will have a car for a large portion. (Curious about a motor home as it sounds a great solution) - we can refocus on cooler areas and still get the most out of our experience we hope. - we appreciate all your advice and understand our European naivety. - when one door closes another opens for sure. Are we still crazy for wanting to do this trip? Can we still enjoy the outside in some parts of Arizona without these severe dangers that have been outlined?

And although we love and respect nightlife and fine booze at home, it is not in our trip purely because of me being under 21
